In my opinion the intent to do harm is in the person not the game, though I do believe that games can influence an intent that is already there.

It isn't video games, or movies, or comics, or that evil rock 'n roll, it's that people still often believe in the bullet theory. That media watched immediately has a powerful negative affect on viewers. People have done whole studies on studies that were proven to have no scientific value like that. People will always blame whatever it is in the media. I'm taking a class on the history of media and we talked about this stuff extensively.

Yes, it won't stop anytime soon. With media becoming larger every day.
Many people feel safe blaming on something that it's not the person. They refuse to believe that there are people in the world that would do that without a reason.

I honestly think it's freaking dumb to blame a shooting on a video game. We've had terrible massacres before video games. Might as well blame those massacres on video games. The people who do shootings are depressed, have mental issues, extreme issues in life or have no reason at all.
