My mom took my cat to the vet today and they said she has kidney problems. She's expected to live for only a couple more days. My cat is really old (my parents got her before I was born) so I knew it was gonna happen soon, but I didn't expect it to be so soon. She's always been there. The worst part is I got this news over the phone because I'm not at home right now so I might not even get to say goodbye. I am just so sad right now if anybody has anything that can cheer me up, that would be great.

Nothing to cheer you up, but I know the feeling.

Back during Spring Break, my cat died. She just got weak, didn't eat much, and jsut seemed sick but we couldn't find out why. I came home from work one day, held her and she sniffed my head as if saying goodbye. I took her to the vet and she didn't come home.

I cried when my first cat died. She had been there all my life. But then a few years later I got another cat. Then my brother got one ._.

The same thing happened to my cat a few years ago. Had kidney failure, mum took him to the vet, never came home.

Never said goodbye. I didn't even know until my mum told me what she did.

I have a cat I'm extremely attached to, and I'll probably feel the same, if not worse when he passes, especially if I won't be able to say goodbye. Ugh, tearing up just thinking about it. I'm so sorry. I hope your cat lived a good life.

I was at my grandmas house just yesterday, and had to say goodbye to Millie, the cat I pretty much grew up with my entire life. Heck, that cat's older then I am. She's 14. I had to say goodbye because she's getting really old and weak, and you can feel all of her bones. She eats and throws it back up. It's only a matter of time...

I had to deal with my dog dying fron kidney failure.
I still remember his face when we took him on his last car ride. He looked so happy, as if his job was done. *sniff*

My cousins' old Pomeranian Lexi is almost 14, and she's pudgy with bone issues. Only a matter of time...
They had to put their golden retreiver Haddie down in 2011. He had bone issues and was older than Lexi, about 16.
