Alright so this video surfaced on the news what do y'all think? A teenager girl 'playfully' shoves her friend but...

There’s nothing in the footage that really suggests it was an accident. Like, it doesn’t even look like she’s talking to the girl that got run over before it happened. That’s so ****ed

I mean, the bus was clearly in her shover's POV. This is tough, but I can't help but feel there MIGHT be more to that. I just don't get how she'd push if the bus was clearly in her line of sight.

She shoved her pretty hard to knock her down and did nothing to help her up, at the very least that poor girl deserves better friends who won't almost kill her.

I actually don't think it was attempted murder, the girl who got pushed looks pretty skinny while her friend looks pretty bulky in comparison, so it may have been a case of her not realising her own strength. And if you look carefully at the moment of the shove, she was "mid-step" at that point meaning she wouldn't have been as balanced at that exact moment.

It's still bloody stupid of them to push her like that right beside the road at all. Plus, they are walking on the cyclist's path which they really shouldn't be.

Also, its not logical that it would be attempted murder, because even if the girl "succeeded" in murdering her friend like this, she would still have man slaughter charges pressed on her, because the camera and the pedestrians would have witnessed her shoving her friend. So even an attempt at passing it off as an accident, if we assume it's a murder, would still result in some action being taken as she would still be held accountable for her friend's death. The charges wouldn't be as severe as murder charges but would still be severe enough to hinder the girl's future. So I don't think it's reasonable to believe this was intentional.

Why would you “playfully shove” when there’s a ****ing bus coming? It’s very easy to dismiss this as stupidity, but I feel she made an attempt on her friend’s life.

I think she was trying to "prank scare" her friend by pushing her towards the bus as it passed, but didn't expect her to actually fall into the street. She seems to notice the bus as it is passing and then pushes with clear intent to make her friend move towards the bus, but her surprised reaction when her friend falls seems genuine.

Definitely an idiot move though and it deserves a harsh punishment.

If not attempted murder (which I'm personally doubtful of) it's at the very least a ridiculously stupid move.

She waited for the bus to pass so I don't think she was trying to kill her, but it was a pretty hard shove. She was probably trying to push her into the bus to hurt/embarrass her. Some people think that stuff is funny so I guess that was the reason, but it's pretty horrible to me.

Quite a bit of American traffic does put up security cameras in case of car wreck or any recorded crime.

honestly to me it just looks like she hadn't expected her friend to lose balance and was too shocked to move when she watched her fall over
