Ok so it's been brought to my attention (and I've sorta seen) a good amount of sexual threads and jokes. Now that mods are cracking down on it and asking people to stop, people seem to be upset about it and are trying to poke fun at the mods and themselves by getting close to bending the rules (or even still breaking them a little). This is behavior not too far off from a child trying to secretly act up after being told to stop more than once.

Look. I know that this is Stuff and Nonsense. I know that overall the section will be more lenient than others. And one of the last things I myself want to be is the fun police, deleting things left and right in a way that implies dictatorship. And I don't think any of the S&N mods want to be doing that either. But there's a difference between a minor sexual joke every now and then, and detailed jokes conversations about swallowing and sex related threads every other day. People are going to get uncomfortable, and this just isn't the place for it.

"But the kids don't come here!". You're right to an extent. The average age of S&N is older than the Skylanders boards. But there's still some younger users here that browse every now and then (and even post), and the fact that this board is, like it or not, still on the same forum as said Skylanders section means there has to be a limit. Let's not forget that some of you started off on those Skylanders boards, and moved to here after lurking a bit or checking out the section. The same can happen again.

And really, yeah kids don't normally come to this section. But does that make it acceptable to post porn? Or a smutty fanfic? Or detailed descriptions of acts? You guys need to think about this stuff. You've been on this section for a good while (most of you well over a year) and should have an idea on what is or isn't acceptable. And if you aren't completely sure, ask a mod.

I'm not saying to be squeaky clean and only talk about sunshine and rainbows (that gets boring after a while). But please have a little restraint with how often and how graphic you guys get with some of these discussions and jokes. I don't think any of us want to police you when you're more than capable of knowing when you're going too far.

they were moving to JumpStart and apparently the mods all went down, so neopets had no moderation for 24 hours. Some very stupid people decided to troll the neopets forum with sex topics.

I've always felt like requesting suspensions is pointless. If you reach a point where the only way to stay off the site is to be forced off, that's a problem you need to handle without mods pulling the trigger. And I know suspending doesn't go on your permanent record or anything, but I still treat a suspension as a big deal and only use it when necessary.

And I'd rather not get a bunch of requests after doing it for one person.

i don't post here very much, if at all, but i saw what was happening and... ugh

Based CAV to the rescue I s'pose.

And just a friendly reminder that you guys can help out by A) alerting mods and/or reporting posts but also B) not directly responding to the posts in the first place. A large number of these types of incidences could be reduced if people ignored 1 or 2 problematic posts. But that often times doesn't happen. When I get to some reports, 15 or 16 people will have responded to the post already. And really, I don't like having to go into a topic to purge it of posts (assuming someone didn't lock it already) but I had to do so based on my instructions to reduce the amount of "inappropriate content."

Yes it stinks but somehow the members of the site found a way to enjoy making posts or topics in this board from 2006-2010 without relying on these types of jokes or contents. And they were roughly the same age (if not older and more inclined to those types of posts) as you guys are now.

cool cool smash me right now because my GameCube adapter just came in. But really finally something was said. Sex isn't really that funny because the majority hasn't had it so it's unrelatable. Yet our horny little minds think that it's funny. It's just dumb.

I think it's kind of weird that people think kids don't go in this section. Some don't, but it's really easy for anyone regardless of age to click into this section without being alert of the stuff that goes on in here. Most do though, I'm not sure if it says in the rules that S&N is the go-to joke around area. If it does, then ignore what I said.

The rules give a slight hint to S&N being the more jokey section, but just hovering over the title on the main board suggests "oh so this is the joke section lemmie get my stand up routine ready".
