So... I got Gold Tires before getting the N64 Rainbow Road fast staff ghost.
Then I beat that one with the Gold Tires. XP

If I had a Wii U, this would probably be the first game I get.
And can I just say, the graphics on this game look amazing for a Mario game.

Good god I knew the AI cheated on 150 cc in Mario Kart 8, but either I must REALLY suck or be the unluckiest player on the planet because I've been getting manhandled by items worse than back in MKWii. I thought Nintendo said they were balancing things out? I got gold in every cup on Mario Kart 7 the first time through... not the case with MK8 at all. <.<;

I know. But my AIs NEVER get coins. I get 'em in 5th and 6th, making me defenseless in the middle of the pack. Literally, the best item I got during a string of silver trophies on 150 cc was a single Gold Mushroom in 9th place... on Rainbow Road, where it's of very little help. I even got a single green shell in 11th multiple times. What's really weird though is that, when I've been watching multiplayer walkthroughs of the Grand Prixs on YouTube, the AI has been much softer and has way less rubber banding. So I guess the best way to play the Grand Prixs is with your buddies? Unless you're going for star rankings.

I got the 8 item in 3rd when I was playing online. The guy ahead of me got a golden mushroom and I was like this is bull- and before I could finish the thought I had the 8 item. I sang the starman song like I was at a metal concert.

I always get the Crazy Eight in second place. Always.

So the game just hates me then? Good to know. Anyway, I retried the cups with Metal Mario and was able to win the ones I got beaten on. <.>;

There's always that one race in every cup that I just get bombarded with items on.

Wow. I managed to get one star on nearly every cup first time, and I already have 3 on each now. Much easier than Wii/DS/64 for me.

Favourite new tracks anyone? My would definitely be Mario Kart Stadium, Sunshine Airport, Mount Wario, Bowser's Castle and Rainbow Road.

I was spam playing my castle in time trials for a while, but I slowly stopped getting better... Others include electrodrome, special rainbow road, and mount wario.

I like all the courses a lot this time, except 64 Royal Raceway, GCN Dry Dry Desert, GBA Mario Circuit, and SNES Donut Plains 3. Which aren't new courses though. :P
But the top have to include:
Thwomp Ruins, Twisted Mansion, Shy Guy Falls, Dolphin Shoals, Cloudtop Cruise, and Rainbow Road. There are other great ones, and all are fine.
For Retro Courses, my favorites would be:
64 Rainbow Road (favorite of all 32 this time), Wii Moo Moo Meadows, 64 Toad's Turnpike, 64 Yoshi Valley, and 3DS Piranha Plant Slide.

I love the design of Cloudtop Cruise but I just despise the opening cloud part, I can't stand really bumpy roads for drifting and stuff >~< I also love the design of Electrodome but the actual track is a little boring.

P.S. Can I add you two on Nintendo Network? :0

Rainbow Road is ALWAYS my favorite track, but of course I have to give the others a chance. :P

Electrodrome is my favorite non-RR track.
