Going to darkSpyro for this sort of advice. Well, not really advice, I just want to hear some thoughts.

So I finally told my best female friend how I really feel about her. After a discussion, here are the facts:

She does think of us being together, but mostly these thoughts are in the future, when we're older.

She said she needs time. She does not know how much.

She said she doesn't want me to feel the need to wait on her.

I'm definitely not giving up. Any thoughts?

Don't know what's so demeaning by asking people for thoughts.

I don't know her like you do so I can't really tell an answer I would be positive with.
If I trusted you more, believing that you know what's around you and are able to understandably handle it, then I would be more confident in saying "I feel that if you truly feel that she's the one for you, then wait."
But since you don't have that image on me, I don't really know what to expect from the person.

Do as you see fit, but I have no confidence that this will result in the best way.

That's very true. You're right.

My god, this is the strongest I've ever felt for someone without actually dating them first. It's.....It's really a great feeling.

Metallo don't give up. If she needs time, give her time. You and her are already best friends. Keep that going, maybe she feels that since you and her are best friends, it would destroy what you have already. What I mean is when you love your best friend and you become a couple, an arguement can destroy the relationship quick. You and her are young, let the love blossom and grow. Take your time and don't give up on her, I'm almost sure she hasn't given up. ^.^

That's just another step closer. Although this can change her behaviour around. Be aware that this might have made her think differently about you.

1. It's good that she's had thoughts of you being together, since it means that she thinks of you as a guy she could potentially want to have a relationship with. On the other hand, it doesn't mean anything more than that.

2. A sign of uncertainty. What she means is that she doesn't want to be confronted with a "yes or no"-question, either because she's not sure how she feels, or she doesn't want a relationship at all and doesn't want to hurt your feelings (you are a good friend of hers, after all).

3. This last one is basically her not making any promises. She doesn't want you to be angry with her in case you end up getting disappointed, so she tells you not to wait for her.

Anyway, none of the things I said really mean anything. They're just possibilities. I only know a small bit about what's going on with you two so I can't make any accurrate quesses based on that.
Needless to say, I think you shouldn't give up with your hopes. How else is anything ever going to work out?
