I have no problems with people of any sexuality if they'd just keep their likes to themselves, but spamming this stuff is just plain obnoxious.

Not to mention everywhere in the media, from children's shows to common commercials you see straight love and sex or women in underwear or lingerie and yet nobody complains about it, and when they do, people get all defensive over it. Look, I know you are a very sensitive, correct individual so I can understand why you wouldn't like to see me putting things in this perspective, but the thing is...

First of all, I was talking about what these guys are doing to their own image with this type of behavior. You agree on that it is rather obnoxious, right? You told them to stop yourself. I think that's good and that you did the right thing.
Also, people are only responsible for what they do themselves. Throwing in the media-card is completely irrelevant here. As to why, I'll get to that later.

Second, I specifically stated that I have no beef with people of any sexualities. I believe human beings are individuals and cannot be judged outright by the actions of a certain group they belong to, especially if they don't have any say in the matter. I look at things purely from the point of view of "cause and effect".

Third, (now to the media-part) advertisements and media are not based on a "code of fairness". Ads have a purpose, and that is to market whatever it is that's being advertized to a certain target audience. They're not a representation of a "level of equality of the system", or any general opinion towards a certain group of people.
The same goes for TV-shows. They are produced and broadcasted by businesses, and they are meant to bring in the big bucks, nothing more. Thus, they are often made with the widest possible range of audience in mind, instead of the most correct ideas.
So while I'm sure this does affect some people's standings when it comes to these sorta discussions, don't mistake it as some sort of intended unequality. If homo/bisexual people were a majority the situation would be the exactly the opposite.

I agree, and I understand, but how is this less appropriate than any of BS's topics where she posted pictures of anime chicks who obviously took to many trips to the plastic surgeon?

I didn't approve of those either.

I also don't know how those topics ended up. I was still in the military when that happened so I wasn't online a lot. Were they closed in the end?
