Don't know what to think call this morning and my toysRus said that they did not have them and would most likely not get them till late next week, but now I got an email from ToysRus saying that there will be New swap force skylanders that "even Santa won't have" tonight at 12:01... So ether my toysrus was ether lying or they will not have them for the sale.

Does anyone know if TRU will have a BOGO deal at 1201am Sunday? I plan to go, but I won't go if TRU is selling them at its inflated prices.

@ Darkrai ... asking a Toys R Us employee about their Skylanders stock over the phone is nearly worthless. Probably 90% of their employees know next-to-nothing about Skylanders, and nearly 100% of their employees are quite sleep-deprived at this point.
Go to the store. Accept that there's a small chance they won't have any stock. But don't be afraid to bring photos from this thread, don't be afraid to ask for the manager's assistance, and don't be afraid to ask the employees to check if the "wave 3" boxes are locked inside the "R Zone" or the "cage" in a secure area.

@ Gamerdrone: don't be ridiculous. Toys R Us charges $1 extra over retail for the "core" figures. If you want to have these newest Skylanders for Christmas, this will be your only chance, and supply will be limited (for now) in all TRU stores. Sure, these Skylanders should be readily available in plenty of locations by mid-January, and you can (and should) be picky about pricing then. But if you want 'em now, suck up the $1.

Yes, it's $1 extra but a BOGO deal makes them cheaper. TRU, and other stores, have been generous with the deals and I can be patient. I don't HAVE to get them now. Considering how many of these figures I've purchased, and still purchasing, any savings is good. I don't see it as being ridiculous.

If you don't care about getting them before Xmas, then you're right; you're not being ridiculous. You're being frugal.

However, if you do want to get them before Xmas, then, yes, fretting over $1 per toy is indeed ridiculous.

Well my closest toysrus is over 45 min away so I never go unless I know they have them (plus this employee know about wave 3) when I asked if they had wave 3, she know all of the skylanders that would be in wave 3 (the 5 new ones).

Unless you promised someone these figures for Christmas, I'll be happy to sleep in tomorrow and wait until they're in stores in droves. No need to rush out and get them.

I called my store and they were not aware of the email. They are not opening the boxes until 6am Sunday. Now, they did say that if I come in at 12am they would open a box and see if the register will ring them up. If it allows me to purchase them they will allow it. However, I live 30 minutes from the store so I will get some shut-eye and see them in the morning.

Just picked up the 4 new Wave 3 characters at TRU in Cary, NC. There was a line of about 10-12 people to purchase at least some of these new Wave 3 characters. They had plenty of stock. As they had at least 8 boxes and there are at least 3 Dune Bugs and (non-LC) Smolderdashes per box.

The commercial on tv showed the new swappers with dune bug. Did anyone find something at toys rc us besides the 5 we expected? ???

I was able to get them after midnight in Milford, CT. It was only myself and 2 other people waiting, but a few more started showing up afterward.

What stinks is there's no sale on them (got a peek at Sunday's flier), so had to pay full price. At least I had a gift card from the launch sale, though.

Got in from my drive from VA to S. FL, landed at TRU at 11:50.

They didn't have them out, and probably wouldn't have yet, if i didn't ask and make it topical. But very nice and accommodating once asked.

They had at least 12 boxes of wave 3. No other boxes, no other series to open/peek/share. But while waiting i did go through every peg from front display to back R zone. Nothing out of the ordinary to report. 0 other people waiting, hell I helped them stock them.

edit: I'm signed up for all their emails; and I have YET to receive one of those skylander alerts.

I didn't get the alert either. I printed out the one linked here (thanks slayer) and brought it with me. None of the guys in the game department knew anything about it. Apparently no one ever tells them anything.

A few angry parents that there were no swappers, but plenty of stock for Dune Bug, Smoulderdash, HB Prism, and Phantom Cynder.

i got there and the employee was telling everybody dont worry we have plenty for all, so ask nice exactly how many boxes they had he said 12 i laughed and looked around then ask him to come to the side. I said you know there are more than 30 people here right he said yes i know that i said have you even looked in the cases to know what you have he said no. So i explained what was in each case and said you know with only 12 cases that is only 12 complete sets of 5 right, His draw dropped and said really how you know this i said have seen what is in each case. So you just told 30 people there were enough when there isnt. i said your best bet would be to start putting people in a line at the register as they came in, then once you get them in line in the correct order then you might want to retract the statement about you have plenty and that there may not be enough complete sets for everyone in a nice way. He did just that and was very thankful and told me that if i needed anything to not hesitate to ask him. because he was just going to walk out and start putting them on pegs which again i informed in the beginning that was a bad idea. but i got my daughter phatnom cynder since she seen the one her brother got she wanted her own.

Were these at the factory ready for shipping before Swap Force release date?

Got all 5 for my son. Word is that TRU got an email saying that Activision may have a release after Christmas, which is probably the swap characters.

I just came back from TRU, they had 10 boxes, only singles.

The limit was 2 toys per person, which made some people disappointed. There were less than 10 people there and nobody was the "buy ALL the things" type, I wish they made an exception for some of them who wanted one of each.
They opened all the boxes and put 2-3 boxes on the counter for people to look through, but they let me look at the unlooked boxes. There were no variants.
I bought Whirlwind and Cynder.


Some notes:

• Prism Break was the popular one at this store, nearly everyone had him as their choice! Then Dune Bug and Cynder. Zoo Lou looks to be this wave's shelfwarmer, naturally.*
  
• Dune Bug's paint is BEAUTIFUL! It's purple in shadows but there's a green glitter effect in the light. He doesn't interest me as a character but I was almost tempted to get him if they didn't have the 2 toy limit (gotta have my dragons).
  
• Phantom Cynder is missing paint on her smallest face horns, they are all like this
  
• It was very hard to find a nice Whirlwind! Most has issues with derp eyes or gold paint on her neck dripping way off the stomach plates, and then a few had more minor problems like misplaced glue or paint. Either she's a problem toy in the quality department or my store just had bad luck.

I have to agree on whirlwinds paint job, I had to look threw every one till I found one that was "ok" but even then it had some splatter.
Dune Bug was just as bad.

Thanks for the info...I just got back from the Beavercreek Store, and was able to get all 5! There was still some stock left (maybe 15-20 of each figure), and a sign that enforced only 1 of each Skylander per customer. I really liked that! I'm sure they will all be gone by early morning. But, hopefully some children (like mine) will get an unexpected surprise on Christmas.....

I had a coupon (that came in one of my Online Toys r Us purchases) that gave me a $10 gift card if you spend $40 or more, so I guess I made out ok.

The funny thing is that I forgot my Wallet and had to go home, which cost me 20 more minutes of driving home and back in the rain.

Oh well, sometimes I think I enjoy the chase the most!!!

Since the TRU I went to was in a smaller city (Johnson City,TN) it was really slow. I was the only person there to get them (I only got Dune Bug and Cynder). There were actually more people stocking than people shopping. I'm going to wait for Prism Break and Whirlwind to come out in the Triple Pack and I already have a Light-core Smolderdash so I'm in no hurry to get him. I would of waited for Dune Bug and Cynder Triple Pack but I'm not going to buy another Terrafin.
On a side note if anyone lives in the area and whats to get and Xbox One they had like 6 in stock.

Picked up my 5 figures at Midnight as well as Flynn's Ship and the Skylands Playset. There were 8 of us waiting and they have 19 cases which was nice. I even gave a friend's kids one of my extra Quickdraw Rattleshakes as an early Christmas gift!

Got mine at 6am after work, I didn't like the eyes on most of the Dune Bugs and after searching for a bit I found one with no white on his eyes. I bought him

My TRU was very professional about it. About a dozen people were waiting in line 10 minutes before midnight. They organized the figures into individual shopping carts and wheeled them out right at 12:01am. They asked the line of people to go in order down the line of carts, so each person had a chance to get what they wanted. We picked up one set of 5, paid and left in under 2 minutes. I hope all launches go that smoothly.

My Local Had about 8 of dune bugs and smolder dashes I got four of each because I needed one to use, one for the collection, my child needs her own and my dog for a chew toy! lol I was actually thinking about buying all 16 but then I had a change of heart and thought there are other children that would like to have these for christmas!

I went ahead and waited until about 5:30AM to go to TRU, got there right before 6... I went to the larger one in my area (Arrowhead) and there were a total of two cars in the parking lot and the store was empty except for the employees running around stocking and cleaning. They had a four sided display with ~16-20 pegs per side packed with the new guys. Easy pickings. Lots of all of them. I grabbed the new five and left. Anyone in Phoenix/Glendale/Peoria, AZ area should run over there for them. Lots available at the moment.

Toledo, OH TRU had tons of Dunebug but very few of all the other figures. Only saw one of Prisim Break and Cynder, a few of Smolderdash but nothing of Whirlwind. Since I was really only after Dunebug this morning I was more than happy.

My local had about 10 or so boxes to put out. There were about 4 or 5 different people there. I happily chatted with a few of them. All of them were parents (I hope).

I got all 5 characters. The one that seemed to be the most popular was Prism Break. He disappeared after about 10 minutes.

I wish these were are in the UK so I could complete my Wave 3.

UK only has Arkeyan Crossbow and I got some others from Amazon.it.

Whirlwind was arguably the least popular character there. There were about 10 of her left when I was there, and they only opened a few boxes.
