MY FATHER WAS SAYING THIS ALL OF YESTERDAY HE WAS LIKE "ARE YOU READY FOR THANKSGIVUKKAH SKYLAR????"

If the media isn't lying (and they could be), this won't happen for another 70,000 or so years, so that's probably why he's making such a big deal. <.>

Eehem the correct term is Hanugivingkah. And apparently someone actually made that a trade marked term. Which is odd considering the copyright will expire in 70,000 years. So yeah...

How did you come to that mathematic conclusion?

Also, neither of those days hold any significance to me.

I know what an email is, but that didn't really answer my question.

So you just got an email that claimed the same you said here, and then you just shared it like you knew it was true. How do you know it might be 70000 years until the next "Thanksgivukkah"?

Alright, to be honest it doesn't really matter. It's just that you shouldn't post things as a fact if you don't know they are facts.

Ah, so you're just repeating what you've heard. You know, you could read that from a hundred different sources and without any actual proof to back it up they might as well be saying that the Earth is flat.

There's just one problem with that article. My temple's news bulletin stated that Thanksgiving and Chanukah overlapped back in 1888. I think the 70,000 years refers to the first day of Chanukah overlapping with Thanksgiving. There's 7 days and 8 nights of Chanukah, so that increases the odds it will happens. Still, the Jewish calender is a lunar one, while the Gregorian calender we conventionally use is a solar one. Which is why these rarely overlap. Chanukah doesn't usually fall this early and Thanksgiving very rarely falls this late. <.<
