Eh, I don't know for I haven't read or watched Percy Jackson. But I don't think it can top Harry Potter.

I love the Harry Potter movies. (The books sucked imo)
I love the Percy Jackson books. (The first movie sucked imo)

Only watched the first film of Percy Jackson and thought it was................ok.

Haven't read the books and have no real interest in doing so.

I've read both in full, and I'm not sure. If the Percy Jackson series continues the way it is going, it will top Harry Potter. But I'm unsure of the movies from either side.

There are so many problems with the Percy Jackson movie.

1. They don't know who Percy's godly parent is instantly.
2. The quest was never to return Percy's mom.
3. They weren't searching for the pearls
4. They didn't fight the hydra (at least not yet)
5. Ares isn't even mentioned, which means the awesome fight that was supposed to happen, didn't.
6. The chimera isn't mentioned in the movie.
7. Hades' appearance is all wrong, he isn't the god of fire!
8. Luke betrays Percy cunningly, not grandly, and they never fought in the first book.

I could continue on for a long time.

on topic, I've always preferred Percy Jackson over Harry Potter. the PJ movies aren't the best, but their bad accuracy doesn't make them bad films, they're both pretty good imo. the HP films are some of my favorites.

I've always preferred Percy Jackson. I've read the entire series twice. They are the only books that really hook me and make me wanna keep reading. I've made it about a third through the third Harry Potter book and stopped because I just wasn't interested. I know a lot of people hate the Percy Jackson movies, but I love them! I've seen most of the Harry Potter movies and I liked those too. And, in the first movie Percy defeated a Minotaur within the first half hour, and did Harry even cast a single spell in the first movie? I enjoy a combination of action and humor, making Percy Jackson the perfect series for me

That wouldn't be a huge accomplishment at all, IMO.

The first three Harry Potter books and movies were "BLOODY BRILLIANT". But from there, it went down hill. 4-6 had flashes of brilliance, but in general, were completely lackluster. And Deathly Hallows was one of the worst ways to end a series, ever (there are only two parts across both parts of Deathly Hallows that I actually really liked - one of which was due to Tom Felton being a brilliant actor who really understood his character, and as such was able to fit in one flash of acting brilliance into the movie. The other was the Dobby death scene...OK, and I guess a third could be one of the Weasley twins dying).

Admittedly, I only watched the movies of 4-7 (fourth book bored me), but honestly, "the book is always better than the movie" logic is extremely flawed - if I greatly disliked the Deathly Hallows movies, why in the world would I like a more detailed version that is still more or less the same story, but takes a lot longer to get through than the movie? It honestly sounds like I'd have less fun with the book.

Read and watched Harry Potter 1-7/8, so of course I'm gonna say that's better. Then again, I've never read the Percy Jackson series and only seen the first movie. I thought it was alright I guess, but I've heard that the book is way better compared to the movie version... kinda like Eragon :3 But I don't really have any interest in the Percy Jackson series anyway, so...
