In my opinion, they're fine.

I don't really have much to say besides that, All I can say is that it has it's pros and cons, but then, what relationships doesn't? Working together through the cons and enjoying the pros together with people, relationships are amazing whether close or long, *Nods*

In the end, for me, it's along the lines of fine.

I don't really have much faith in them. Many of the people that I know that have done long distance(Around 10-15) have ended up getting cheated on or the love died and slowly stopped talking to each other.

I don't ever see myself trying it, though I would be lying if I said it would be impossible. However, just because it's possible it doesn't meant that I want to.
I put my picture in my profiles to act as a scarecrow. I really don't want to talk to someone if they're just looking for a lover. So I put a picture of myself to show them how I look like and hopefully see there's nothing interesting.

If you mean regarding others, then I of course have no problem. Heck, I'm helping a new friend out with her long distance relationship lately. And her relationship with her partner is just as strong and touching, if not more so, than most short distance relationships I've seen.

Me personally, I am against the idea of being in a relationship at all right now, and I have no comparative experiences anyway. I technically had a long distance relationship with a girl when I was like, 12, but I really don't count it, it was that short, and I was kind of forced into it by my brother for his amusement...and the girl had a literal fear of Sonic the Hedgehog, SOOOOO I think it may have been a difficult relationship to maintain anyway, if it was serious to begin with. :V
I've never been in a local relationship though, and don't plan to be in one anytime soon.

But you know what they say about long distance relationships - they are only for if you are in it for the long haul, strictly short distance relationships are only good if you want someone to screw you and buy you stuff for a few months.

Seriously, I think every truly strong relationship has to become long distance at some point anyway, if not more than once. Otherwise, you will not have given your loyalty to your significant other the ultimate test. I hate how a lot of young people these days expect "true" friendships and relationships to be so when things are always sugar and rainbows. Quite the opposite really. Conflicts are there to test your bonds, and assess whether or not they are worth maintaining. Only after your loved ones have conflicted with you can you decide if your bond is strong and true.

I subscribe to the belief that a long distance relationship requires a greater commitment, in certain respects (i.e. patience), from both individuals in order to work. But if you're willing to put in the extra effort, go for it. <.>
