My story of Gimp. [CLOSED]

I used to use gimp....It was a huge pain the arse. Either the timing was to fast or the shading got distorted. And I used to think that the computer needed a restart when that happened. But nope it just happens.

Then a few days later to try to use it.

My reaction to that while trying to use gimp:

Honestly when I get my awesome computer out of storage, the first I'm gonna before updating the crap out of every game on there is to uninstall if it is on there.

Well, launching Gimp always launches X11, which is used to code in Unix. So I'm guessing the application is associated with Unix in some way. *shrug* When I had Windows XP, I had a pretty decent freeware program, but I can't remember it's name. <.<

I think you can get free 30 day trials of CS5 at least (that's what I use) from adobe's site but I can't recall
if so then just.... do the thing

I have Windows 8 currently and it runs fine.
It also worked fine on my Windows 7 computer. *shrugs*



Seems fine on Window XP too.

Odd. I rarely use it, mainly as I was trained on photoshop and am kinda lost on controls, but when I tried it seemed fine.

I think they still are free if they are CS2. Still, it may be older but it could still have some decent tools.

And the current one is CC i'd believe, this version now requires to be payed monthly. Which pretty much sucks considering if you have an older version for many years,, it'll eventually be cheaper.

The only problems I've had with Gimp is when it randomly freezes up and I have to shut the program down. Which version were you using? If you were using 2.8, then that could be your problem.

Works fine with me, it's my tablet thats causing the problems 8< Windows keeps overriding the driver for it so, as far as GIMP is concerned, its just a mouse.

It was the newer one that I used to use. Now I use http://www.ezimba.com/index-ln.html for my animation needs. Also I have nothing to say to your copy.
