I did but since they weren't allowed at my school (Back when they were actually sold) I couldn't help them during the day. My only hope was that my mom could take care of it as I was at school. None of my Tamagotchis lived a very long life. (R.I.P. Carlotchi)

I had a version 3 and 2 version 4's. I stopped buying them after that. I still have them but the batteries have died.

I remember my cousins having them, and I remember seeing the movie in stores a few years ago, it looked like a movie from the pokemon anime, thanks to the art style of the human e__e

Actually, to advance to the next generation you had to have your Tamagotchi find a partner (whether it be through the matchmaker, or through someone else's Tamagotchi device) and fall in love with them. This leads to them kissing, which makes a little baby Tamagotchi(s). In a way, mating. *shot*

I had a version 4, a version 5 (also known as the Familitchi) and the Tamago. My sister had one of all these as well, I used to look after hers and mine at the same time when I was obsessed. I've still got them somewhere. >.>
