As I start to wrap up Giants forever, do we now have a total count on items (chase/in game variants included):

I have 140. Please advise if you have a higher count....I think I have them all.

Got all characters (including LC Hex), even chase variants/in game variants etc. It may well be over 160 for items that don't add to the inventory but I'm referencing in game inventory counts.

I know all of the chase ssa stuff doesnt register separate. I also know of at least two giant characters that don't add inventory b/c there's multiple different characters sharing the same rfid id. (Glitter/GITD Sonic and blurple/pumpkin eye brawl).

I'm not 100% sure about what shows up as Special and what does not, but I can tell you that there are 41 total Non-Game Variants.
This IS counting the Platinum Treasure Chest, since its RFID chip is the same as the regular version.
This is NOT counting the Translucent Portals.
also I am NOT counting Halloween Fright Rider until we have psychical proof he exists.
oh and I don't count package differences either.

99 unique in game
+ 24 Magic Items
+ 17 ? Special counted
= 140 Total (141 if Fright Rider ends up being another Special variant)

If you want to include SSA variants as well as dupe "Special" counts, the total amount of unique figures (not nessicarily with all counted in registry) would be 165-166, I believe.

By the way, congrats on getting Giantkicks. I've wanted to get them for a while, but I'm holding out in hopes that EB Games will get them next year, as I got them for free from them this time(well after I had bought a set- fail!). smilie

123 In-game
41 Out-Game
164 total

you said 165 NOT counting Halloween Fright Rider, right? ^
is my math wrong or is yours?

Here's the math I used on rare variants:

SSA: 3 silver, 3 gold, 3 ice, 3 glow, flock, ruby, sapphire, emerald, metallic, pearl, chrome = 19
Giants: 2 Stoned, 3 Glow, 3 Sparkle, 3 Snow, 3 Blurple, Amazon, Series 1.5 Double Trouble, Platinum, Toy Fair, Employee, E3, Special Gill Grunt = 21
40 variants total

You're correct, I don't know how I added the extra one. >.> I must have counted an SSA variant twice.

Do the SSA chase variants come up as special in giants? Like say Clear stealth elf or gold chop chop?

There may in fact be 160 total...I'm referring to what registers in Giants. Let me do the math, but first:

1. We know SSA treasure hunt variants don't count to that total 140 that is pictured.
2. We know certain items / treasure hunt variants compete for a single inventory slot
  • GITD / Glitter Sonic Boom
  • Blurple Eye Brawl / Pumpkin Eye Brawl
  • Lightcore Prism Break / Employee Edition Prism Break
  • Treasure Chest / Platinum Treasure Chest
  • Series 1.5 Double Trouble / Series 2 Double Trouble

So....

Magic Items (8)
Location Items (4)
Battle Items (4)
  • Golden Cannonfire
  • Cannonfire
  • Catapult
  • Volcanic Vault

Sidekicks (8)

SSA - 32
SG - 48 (8 New Giants + 8 Lightcores + 24 Series 2 + 8 New Core)

Legendaries (10)
Legendary Stealth Elf
Legendary Jet-Vac
Legendary Slam Bam
Legendary Ignitor
Legendary Trigger Happy
Legendary Bouncer
Legendary Chop Chop
Legendary Bash
Legendary Spyro
Legendary LightCore Chill

In Game Variants (9)
Dark Spyro
Royal Double Trouble
Granite Crusher
Scarlet Ninjini
Gnarly Tree Rex
Molten Hot Dog
Punch Pop Fizz
Polar Whirlwind
Jade Flashwing

Treasure Hunt Variants (All Ring up "Special") (17)
Amazon Golden Flameslinger
GITD Cynder
GITD Fright Rider
White Flocked Prism Break OR Employee Edition Prism Break
White Flocked Stump Smash
White Flocked Eruptor
Glitter Hot Hot Head
Glitter Sonic Boom OR GITD Sonic Boom
Glitter Sprocket
Rock Zook
Rock Whirlwind
Toy Fair Chop Chop
Blurple Eye Brawl OR Pumpkin Eye Brawl
Blurple Wrecking Ball
Blurple Lightning Rod
Special Edition Gill Grunt
E3 Hot Dog

There's the 140. Let me know if I'm missing anything.

You missed Amazon Flameslinger lol.

99 Skylanders, s1, s2, repaints etc (don't need to recount this one, Giants 3DS has this many listed and is actually correct about it.)

24 magic items (4 location pieces, 8 magic items, 4 arena pieces, 8 sidekicks)

17 ingame Special (Zook, Whirlwind, Fright Rider, Cynder, Sonic Boom, Sprocket, Hot Head, Chop Chop, Flameslinger, LC Prism Break, Eruptor, Stump Smash, Hot Dog, Eye-Brawl, Lightning Rod, Wrecking Ball, Gill Grunt)

Just to fix this as well, Employee Prism Break doesn't register as a Special, just regular LightCore Prism Break(I'm serious- very, very dumb for something so special...).

This is the total amount that you can register in the game without game or figure manipulation.

The amount of total, unique figures physically...

(I also missed Pumpkin Eye Brawl from this list- so the total is 164, or 165 with Pumpkin Fright Rider. Oops!)

I edited the post before you replied on the Amazon piece--sorry about that.

So, help me get to the 99 number. I count and get 91 (37 SSA + 46 SG + 8 In Game Variants)

I think that's where I'm wrong/missing in my list.

EDIT: I also missed a legandary in Giants...there were 6 total (3 pack with Jet Vac, Ignitor, Slam Bam; Stealth Elf; Bouncer; Lightcore Chill)

48 + 8 LightCore - 56

  2. Legendary Spyro
  3. Scarlet Ninjini
  4. Royal Double Trouble
  5. Punch Pop Fizz
  6. Legendary Bash
  7. Granite Crusher
  8. Jade Flashwing
  9. Legendary LightCore Chill
  10. Legendary Slam Bam
  11. Legendary Ignitor
  12. Molten Hot Dog
  13. Legendary Trigger Happy
  14. Legendary Bouncer
  15. Legendary Chop Chop
  16. Polar Whirlwind
  17. Legendary Jet-Vac
  18. Gnarly Tree Rex
  19. Legendary Stealth Elf

I accounted for your list with my legendary count. Let me recount what you have vs me.

EDIT: I missed 8 of the new Giants core guys...now all trued up.

Thanks for the heads up on this...I haven't gotten Employee Prism Break yet as he's technically the last physical Giants artifact I need.

That was because half of the people that were given him already tried to resell him to begin with. -.-;

Oh so now that this thread has been bumped- apparently all the new versions of old characters from SF show up as Special in Giants.

So, that would add 23 to the count(16 S2/S3, 4 variant, 3 LC).

They should've either noted them correctly as a Series 3 or as the series that would've worked for Giants...this is what they did in SSA. Bad move as it downgrades the need for chase variants.

I would prefer that the games not really notate any difference at all in the collection screen.

If you have Spyro, you have Spyro. Period. Sure, the figure might have different powers, lightcore bomb, etc... but Spyro=Spyro=Spyro (with an exception for something like Legendaries, Dark, etc...)

I agree. The way Lost Islands does it is best. All color variants are marked as unique, but series 1, 2, 3, and Lightcore are all one character, they just get a little icon next to the picture noting if you have register multiple versions.
