To be fair, the ones that Gamestop sells are special ones that you can use coins you find in gameplay to level up higher and retain move upgrades and what not. Other objects scanned in with NFC are just "helper" Pokemon that only appear for the battle. (if I'm not mistaken. don't quote me on that)

Thats not true, he doesnt work in skylanders and the pokemon that appears are randomized by the game. At least thats what I think. I dont have Rumble U so what do I know? All I know is that they dont have the same coding. That would mean that Nintendo would have programmed a pokemon designated for every skylander. Including swap force and of course Rumble U came out first.

Anything that's NFC/RFID thats not a Rumble U toy brings in a randomized pokemon each time.
