No typo at all, they're releasing a new console that plays 3DS games in 2D. Is this a gosh dang joke Nintendo?

That makes, absolutely, no sense, whatsoever

It's directed to younger audiences since the 3DS with it's 3D effect makes the kids ill, also hinged DSes are fragile and can ridiculously break. Plus the 3DS can already play normal DS games (or 2D games in this case).

There's a 2D option on the 3DS though. What's the point of a 2DS if you can already put your 3DS in 2D?

Lets think of the 2 consoles as ipods, one is small yet fragile, but it has deafening volumes. The other one being more bulky and strong, with more kid friendly volumes. You see what I'm saying?

The naming isn't AS bad as the WiiU, but it's still likely to cause confusion. "Where can I buy Nintendo 2DS games?" May become a thing soon. <.<

I got my 3DS for $140, only about $10 more than this. Don't know what all the complaints over the price are about. >.>

I like the flip feature and am very happy with my 3DS.

Looks like a two screened leapster tablet.

I actually can't stand the 3D affect on my 3Ds, it hurts my eyes I placed a parental block on it cause I keep hitting the stupid slide switch a lot.

It's basically Nintendo's way of saying, "Yeah, the stereoscopic 3D was pretty much a failure." <.<

That's sooooo stupid. You can play 3ds games in 2d on the 3ds already! Plus the 3d sucks!

I'm gonna try to get a 3DS. For future flipnote and long list of game purposes. Plus I'm probably missing out a lot on flipnote anyways.

Why are people hating on it? It's a blessing for me. ;~;

I'm not allowed a 3DS because my mum says that the 3D feature will "frazzle my brain" and do my eyes in. She knows that you can turn off the 3D but still doesn't trust me and my brother to not have it on. We don't even like the 3D feature so would pretty much always use it in 2D. Stupid woman. -.-

She has no excuse as to why we aren't allowed a 2DS.

My brother has broken an original DS and a DS lite by dropping them so the screens split apart. The no folding thing will stop this from happening again. (his DSi is still ok).

The 2DS would be mine. I still have a DS lite.

The magical thing is, you don't have to buy it.

Then again this is just a marketing technique to boost pokemon XY sales (Note they come out on the same day and for the price of 1 3ds you can get a 2DS and Pokemon X or Y)
Thanks goodness this is just a weird varient of the 3DS otherwise we will get exclusives for it.
