that's a suckish-balls waste of money. but it does look cool.

It's not a waste of money at all. It's cheaper than the DS and 3DS were all at launch, and it's a cheaper alternative to the 3DS for those who don't want to spend the extra money on the console with the 3D feature they don't want to use.
