I used to write lyrics for songs too when I was a kid. I used to tell my Dad about it, and he'd actually help out with some of the lyrics, it was fun. He even hooked up a mic to the stereo, popped in a blank tape, and I used to sing them, so now I have them recorded on tape; and now that I look back on it, and listen to it again, it's actually quite rubbish, lol, brings back good childhood memories though. My voice was so high-pitched on the recording, it's funny.
