At last! They've raised the level from 35 to 40 and added a new reward when we reach level 36 Brilliant!

Well shoot, I was just going about getting rid of houses but now there's a need for them again. I also will need to redecorate my islands to maximize the decoration bonuses...

I guess I've gotten too used to the in-game downloads. The timing is good - I just finished replacing all my duplicate smaller (mabu) houses with acorns and needed a new goal. Does anyone know how many Mabu it requires?

Won't know until someone reaches 36, I suppose. I'm guessing you'll get there before me with all your acorn houses.

In other news, Giant/Alter houses are now awarding kingdom XP, which they weren't doing when I was maxed out at level 35. As nice as gaining levels might be, I'd rather the houses spit out nothing but gold and gems (and stones if they must).

I sure hope when I get to level 40 that the houses stop awarding kingdom XP again. Qanai, let us know when you get there!

I did not check the update before playing. At least that meant I got gold instead of XP form my giant's houses.

Also the game seems a lot more stable so hopefully it won't crash on my next gold chest.

I've only gotten experience from the giant houses once so far after 3 rounds of collections so I'm ok with that. At 24 hours after my update I'm 5.1% done with level 35... Level 36 is a ways away...

My progress bar is only moving up at snail pace but at least it's worth collecting experience points again now

I think I am kind of disappointed they raised the level cap. I was enjoying churning out tons of gold and collecting all the skylanders. This morning my houses were ~50% exp and the rest were gold. No energy and no gems. Obviously its random, but this will clearly slow me down.

Anywhere from 30%-50% of my houses are now kingdom EXP. Lame.

No exp from ghs or hols here, but no gems either.

I'm at 11.7%, but only because I didn't click on my shearer or prison for a month, so I had about 100K XP between them.

I got a nice surprise when I got to level 36.

It gives a bonus of 10 gems and 5 wishing stones.

Unfortunately, my islands are pretty ugly right now as I just changed everything in order to maximize Kingdom XP after having previously sold off or stored almost all of my houses and community buildings.

It needs 5000 Mabu and takes 36 hours to build. Completion of the quest leads to another to harvest cotton candy from it five times.

The 10 gems continue at level 37 as well.

Well I don't know about anyone else but it's slow going reaching level 36! I've just hit 40%. How's everyone else doing?

43% for me. But I've only been on once or twice a day to collect. I just got Quigley so I hope to get on more just to set him off.

Same. I'm at 43 per cent. I could go a bit faster if I rearranged my decorations. But really, what's the point? With all of us having started the game at different times, how well you're doing compared to everyone else is merely a function of how long you've been playing and how frequently you play each day. The developers have a certain tempo to their content releases - I think it makes sense to play at a similar tempo so the new releases come right when you need them.

I can't imagine anything worse than getting to the point where I had ten hall of legends, every character house, more gold than I could spend, no need to plant energy crops anymore, and no new skylanders to chase. I'm still at the point where I can see how each purchase or win helps me play the game better. That's the fun part for me.

Hell, I've only got two character houses, and I've still got 50 more skylanders to get. Didn't stop me maxing out at Level 35 in three months, so the level cap is a pretty useless indicator for me. I've still got HEAPS to look forward to.

I'm with you Woz, I haven't had the opportunity to purchase many of the character houses as its so hard to build up enough gems in time. When it comes time to get one they've release another two and then make them unavailable. I'm hoping if I stick with with it that maybe I'll be able to get them all eventually.

I'm expecting everything to be on sale at a discount this weekend. Historically they've done sales that correspond to US holidays.

I had to google to find out what the holiday was for. I thought we were bad you have a lot of excuses for holidays.

At first I was like "OK, I'm going to rearrange my islands in order to maximize my xp bonuses." But then I read Woz's philosophy on another thread and decided not to race, or even really try that hard, to gain levels. There's truly no point.

I am on 45 but that is basically due to the fact that apart from a few visits a day the serious stuff happened between 9pm and around 3am over drinks and munches and sometimes even some cricket between the rain.

That is the Ashes cricket from England I know I am a tragic.

I need to get some sleep!

The only non significant advantage to hitting 40 is that houses stop giving you exp. if your goal is to collect skylanders by spinning, then you need gold and so hitting 40 helps with that goal.

That being said, it looks like it will take five plus weeks to hit 40 so its a marathon not a sprint.
