Well, that was unexpected.

I've been hoping for an upgraded Wii U version. And now they taunt me. smilie

Really? Do people still even play the first game anymore? ...Oh yeah, me.

I wonder if it will have any new content from the US versions.

- due out on 12th of July
- seeing release on ps3, wii, 3DS and wii-u
- wii-u version will feature off-tv play, stats display, menu navigation
- it will also use the gamepad for lock puzzle mini games

here's the japanese trailer.

so they remade ssa with the updated sg game emgine or is this made with the ssf game engine??... this remake for ssa for the wii-u is just crazy... here i was yesterday thinking they should do a remake of ssa and here we are its been done for the wii-u... whats next??.. a new version for ps3 that you can use with the psvita??..

anyway someone here must get this version of the ssa game and compare it between the ps3/x60/pc version and see what we miss out on and what improvements have been done...

and i hope there will be an english version of this remake, then i will buy it again.. ssa is the best skylanders game so far that is for sure...

this will serious kick off the skylanders in japan and i hope it sells good smilie

I wonder if they release Giants over there if it will have all the same characters. In particular, the Air category. I can expect Warnado will sell pretty well over in Japan.

Hey, if there's enough demand they might release the Wii U version in America.

Best part is that the figures are being re-issued. Folks looking for the lost 8, this is your chance!

Has that been proven? If so, that only works in Japan, doesn't it?

I'm told (by an employee of TFB) that the reissued toys are 100% the same as the US Series 1 figures (same molds, same RFID chips, etc), but will be in Japanese packaging. That means that in-pack collectors will be out of luck, but people who are happy to own loose figures will be able to get whatever they're missing.

Having said that, I've spent some time in Japan, and if it takes off there we won't see any benefit from a rare S1s getting a re-release. Think Skylanders fans are crazy? You haven't seen anything until you've seen a serious Japanese collector who is happy to throw hundreds and thousands at their hobby.

the ssa/sg versions of the skylanders we have today are produced and packed in china already... so this will not cost more.

they will do a push like they did here in the eu and us for japan... evilbay and other sites alike should have a lot of older figures next year. i guess even some game shops will import the olders ones, if they are not that easy to be bought. so there is good hope for those that are missing old ones... like wham shell and boomer etc...

I was thinking along the line of the Silver figures, of which are at their all time highest price: $200+.

Umm... yeah, they will. The figures are produced in China, then shipped over here for next to nothing per figure because they ship boatloads of stuff in one haul.

If you're ordering less than your own, personal boatload of figures, expect to pay a pretty penny in shipping costs. I ordered a $15 3DSXL cover that shipped from Hong Kong last week - shipping on it was $15.

I've ordered several figures from China; a lot of 10 only costed $30.

I thought I'd be spending a fortune just to get Darklight Crypt and the smilie, smilie & smilie Triple Pack, but the prospects of this kinda make me giddy with excitement! smilie

As for the Wii U version of Skylanders Adventure, I'd snap that up if it came out in Australia! Well, once the white Wii U Premium Pack is out, of course. smilie
