Interesting that Target has more than other places. I figured TRU would be a show in for something nifty.

I'll probably go with Target, since most people will likely go with Gamestop (so I could probably get whatever they offer online). I'm planning on hunting down Jade Flashwing this week (finally) anyway, I can preorder it then.

Or maybe since I'm preordering the 3DS AND PS3 versions, I should just - duh! - get Gamestop's AND Target's!

Now that should work nicely.

Of course, I'd really like to have what I want of Giants by October, but still... If only Gamestop and Target would be a bit clearer - I don't want to preorder three versions.

It's any figure priced $9.99-10.99 when you pick up the game. The original email and their weekly ad show only Giants toys but the weekly ad makes it clear that it's any character.

They are not offering the content card like Target but you can buy the card for $1 then not follow through on the preorder.

The free TRU figure - is that Giants only? Or could I get a Swap Force figure instead with it?

That's a dealbreaker there.

You get the figure at the time of pick up so I assume it could be any figure under $10.99. Meaning you could probably get a free core skylander.

EDIT: Oh and the deal for TRU lasts until 6/29 (Sat.) so if you want that free figure make sure to do it before Saturday.

I'll have to run down there this week and confirm, but man, free SF figures on day one sounds too good to pass up. Getting the PS3 and 3DS versions, so if I get it there that's 8 figures on day one.

Gotta have that snazzy Volcanic Eruptor. Possibly my favorite variant yet.

yes it does say that, but also you can upgrade as many time you want... that means no moar grinding

So you could have a fully upgraded wash buckler at chapter on with him level one?

how exact things will be working we dont know yet but in theory you could have a fully upgraded wash buckler...

Yeah, but the card might be considered a collectible and have some resell value. Until I know what it does, exactly, I'm torn between Target and TRU.

I am torn between Target and TRU too. they both seem the best to me. I can't decide.

In New Zealand both EB Games and Mighty Ape have Polar Whirlwind as a pre-order bonus.

i don't think there is any limit on this card... because no other dlc had the ability to save anything on the chip so it could register how many time you used it.

That would make the game too easy at first. And all would be left is leveling up that skylander.

Ugh that bites, on the (Until June 19) thing. Cuz I'd love to get a free figure with it.

i don't have enough to buy the whole game... since you have purchase the entire Game. My birthday is coming up but it's past the DL. Besides, parents are only spending $30 on me and my sister, (Who I was pretty much going to get me the 3DS version) is now out of a job thus I may not get a present from her.

Also, I want both 3DS and Xbox 360 versions. so umm yeah.

It should show up on you receipt from TRU. You can get one free figure $9.99 to $10.99 when you pick up the game. That is what the lady at the counter told me and what the catalog says.

Hmmm, alright. I can't find a date on my receipt anywhere, but if there's notation for it somewhere then that's good. Sounds like it should apply to SF figures too, which is nice.

And unless there is a special way that the cashier was supposed to ring up the preorder, the bonuses (other than the poster) are not listed on your receipt in any way. Based on my own experience, as well as the experience of others, there is no way to track the bonus other than wait until October when they're supposed to contact you via email with your coupon for the free figure and LC Hex. Because of this I recommend that anyone taking advantage of the TRU deal keeps a physical copy of the ad so you have ammunition on launch day if TRU fails to follow through with their promotion.

Dang, wish I had an EB Games by me instead of Gamestop :/ But at least I get something.

Stupid question here, but would there be a point to buy more than one of the Target cards to get a bonus for multiple of your figures? Also is that even possible or if everytime you are putting a dollar down you a reserving a starter pack?

We don't know if there'd be a point as we don't fully know what it unlocks.

Putting the dollar down for a Target pre-order really is just paying a dollar for the card. This dollar means nothing and nothing is really reserved. The only true point for pre-ordering at Target is to get a $5 gift card when you buy the game.

Whatever this mysterious DLC is, I hope it'll be very useful in the game.
