Do Sidekicks do anything on the 3DS [CLOSED]

By anything, I mean at least they register, I know they don't do anything significant but I don't care

They are basically mindless meat shields. I'm buying them only to be figure complete...it's sure as heck not for anything they do.

I've actually used my sidekicks on the console and 3DS games. In the console they follow you around in every level. In the 3DS games they only follow you around in the hubworld and not the actual levels... (Note: I haven't used the sidekicks on SSA Console version, or SG 3DS version yet.)
