No, you're no indefinite asshole. I don't see you as annoying, but the view of annoyingness is subjective...as well as assholery, actually, but when it comes to those things it can likely be a person's experience with you in the sense of you arguing with them or merely them catching you at the wrong time and not actual fully embedded traits across the board of your entire persona. It is also your experience with yourself. It can be unavoidable, although, as everyone's a bit of an "ass" and "annoying" at some point in life, and maybe consistently to themself.

Of course, there was this time where I was...envious of you and a bit angry, but it was just me being selfish and distraught about a situation with someone else. It's definitely over now, and it was a long time ago, but it was something that really actually turned my attention onto you, because before I was neutral as I am often with people at first....and it just ended up that something negative turned into a positive. I believe you're capable of great things as much as anyone else, but you have some pretty great traits that are almost non-existent to in me. I like your quirks, and by that I mean things that are both razors and fluff about you. I've watched you grow into someone else...who's not as different as you were before as you may think.

To the contrary, I see about 2 Carmelita Foxes each day and in distraught, I stare, tantalized by their luscious fur and colouring...how much I just want to...be enemies with these Foxes, but atlas, it is not enough, it would be like running into a meat locker without a fork.
