~Plot:
Recently, the changeling hive ruled by Queen Chrysalis, the self proclaimed 'Queen of Queens', launched an attack against Canterlot, in a campaign to rule Equestria. She was defeated by the combined love of Princess Cadance and Shining Armor, which drained her and her hive of their magic.
Well, Chrysalis wasn't quite pleased at this turn of events. And now she's got the resources to try again.
And win.
With Canterlot and the rest of the country on alert, Twilight is trying to find out as much about the mysterious changelings as she can. Unfortunately, few ponies have ever encountered a hive and returned to tell the story, and of those still alive today, they refuse to talk about it.
And now Equestria has found an unlikely ally in the form of another changeling hive, coloured yellow instead of teal. They have explained that Chrysalis and her lot aren't the only of their kind, that there are actually countless hives within Equestria itself. Chrysalis' hive is simply the largest and most powerful. Apart from the commander and his companions explaining things to the princesses, the rest of the hive is occupying the caves beneath Canterlot, and this hive's (extremely paranoid) queen has yet to make an appearance.
Everything is probably going to be just fine.

~The Everfree Hive:

A small hive located in the Everfree Forest, or more specifically, the ancient castle where the Elements of Harmony defeated Nightmare Moon, in both the past and present.
The changelings of this hive have yellow shells, wings and eyes, instead of the blue/teal of the ones with Queen Chrysalis.
The Queen of the Everfree Hive is terrified of the mere idea of discovery, and apparently only her subjects know her name, on fear that they could somehow use it against her/them.

Changelings eat regular food normally, and feed on a powerful source (Commonly love, though queens may feed on pure magic as well) to fuel their magic. Love-drained changelings can hardly use magic, queens have the common abilities that would be seen of an average unicorn (Minus talent magic). All changelings can shapeshift regardless of how much magic they possess at the time, though the ability comes easier to stronger individuals.

-Changelings live about as long as regular ponies.
-Queens can live for centuries, but don't have the immortality of divine Alicorns (Celestia and Luna).

Personality: Notable for her extreme paranoia, believing that someone knowing some tiny little detail of her hive would result in their destruction. Among her own changelings, she is quite calm and caring, though still prefering to be alone. Often gets irritated when one of her commanders makes a wisecrack about her 'personality defects'.

Other: The Queen of the Everfree Hive. Has yet to show up in Canterlot, or so it seems. Is about one tinfoil hat joke away from actually wearing one. For some reason or another, she despises Chrysalis and seeks to eventually defeat and kill the rival queen. Said to have encountered Hellena in the past.

Species: Unicorn
Personality: Quite insane, and quite childlike. She possesses the curiosity and innocence of a young filly, but also the cruelty that only a kid could have and enjoy. Believed to be delusional, and has an eerie obsession with fire.

Other: Claims to be the only one who knows the Everfree Queen's true name. After helping to protect her hive from discovery, the Everfree Queen believes she owes Hellena a favour.

Gender: Male
Species: Changeling
Personality: Somewhat of a prankster, enjoying taking the forms of ponies he comes across and mimicing their actions. Bold enough to joke about his queen's unnecessary worries.
Appearance: An average looking changeling with a yellow back plate, transparent yellow wings with several holes in them, and bright yellow eyes. He has a grey mane and tail.
Cutie Mark: None
Other: Doesn't care about the majority of his hive's prejudice against ponies, just enjoying the chance to finally mess with their heads. Isn't really interested in magic.

Name: Pen
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Species: Pegasus
Personality: A cheerful, bubbly pegasus who is almost always happy. Isn't bothered by the insults that normally come his way, which are mostly about his blank flank. Pen is generally a chatty pony who will always make room for conversations. Then again, it is said he has an insecure, violent side that comes out when put under enough pressure. A bit dimwitted, but has a good heart and mostly good intentions.
Appearance: Pale grey, with a spiky, light orange mane and tail. His eyes are light blue, and he has three dark freckles underneath his right eye. His feathers are somewhat squared compared to regular wings. Generally wears a thick, dark grey scarf which is usually suited for arctic expeditions. A bit short-sighted, so he wears a pair of rectangular glasses.
Cutie Mark: None
Other: Pen tends to drift between jobs, trying to find something, anything, that could help him find his Cutie Mark. Currently exploring uncharted and dangerous areas to the north, occasionally returning down south to various towns, commonly Baltimare.

Species: Unicorn
Personality: Happy and kind to others. She's usually quite silly, but will be serious if the moment calls for it. She has a bit of a flaring temper if you make her mad, and tends to hold a grudge to those who insult her. She can be quite loyal to her friends, but due to her insecurity, can sometimes push them away. She's also very humble.
Appearance:

Cutie Mark: A painters palette with a pencil and paintbrush crossed behind it.
Other: Is fairly talented artist. She's been often commissioned to create paintings and sculptures by the ponies of Equestria, but she dreams of making something for the Princesses themselves. She's also inspired by the stories of Twilight Sparkle, and hopes to someday meet her. Currently lives in Baltimare.

Personality: Quiet and thoughtful, but definitely sweet if you can get past his shyness.
Appearance: A mostly average changeling, except a few differences here and there. His eyes resemble more of a pony-like look rather than the one color abyss of others, and yellow wings appear more dragonfly like, and turn a light green on the tips. He has two, slightly crooked bottom fangs that stick out from his lips. He's embarrassed by this, especially since the fangs are a bit rounded on the tips. His chitinous is yellow like the rest of his hive.

Other: Has a fascination with alicorns and dragons, and likes learning about them. He would also like to one day find a love-supplement for changelings. Currently lives in the Everfree Forest among his hive.

Personality: Incredibly proud, and a tad ignorant. She places herself above all others and can sometimes act out of selfishness. She's still caring toward friends, but still prefers herself to anyone. She has a very short temper, and will literally attack anyone who insults her. She's been dragged off for short prison sentences for getting into brawls int he past.
Appearance: Her fur is pastel peach, and her mane and tail is a shining silver, with a few small gold streaks in it. Her eyes are bright, crystal blue.
Cutie Mark: A golden and silver labrys (double bladed ax).
Other: Works as a smith, making armor for the Royal Guard. Currently lives in Canterlot.

Other: Makes the weapons and armor the royal guards wear. Has his own, custom, sword he keeps on him at all times. Can be misunderstanding, misunderstood, and very bubbly.

Personality: Stubborn and moderately belligerent, though highly intelligent. Acts very militant, and always gives respect to his superiors. Fiercely loyal, he will defend his teammates to the end. Special talent is pegasi machinery.
Appearance: Stark black with ruby eyes and a black, spiky slicked-back mane with red tips. His left leg,and wing are mechanical, comprised of gears, pistons, and metal plating.
Cutie mark: A silver wrench crossed with a white wing.
Other: An ex-lieutenant of the Equestrian Air Force, he now has a 'handicapped veteran' status. Is currently homeless and in poverty, hoping to find somewhere to live. Current location is Canterlot.

Pharate hovered in the sunny noon sky above Canterlot, his lemon eyes searching for a pony to irritate. Several ponies had already fallen for his antics that morning, including a disgruntled looking royal guard.
The changeling snickered, landing down on a tall building. Plenty of ponies had complained to Celestia about the presence of the changelings in the grand city, many of them believing that something similar to what happened at the wedding would occur. Celestia had waved it off that she was well prepared if these changelings were to betray her. Whatever that meant.

Hellena crept through the dark streets of the city, bright orange eyes narrowed as she looked around. She knew the side streets off by heart, having spent her childhood having adventures with various other foals. She hadn't been back since then.

Silver Lining huffed, blowing a small tuft of hair out of her eyes as she worked. She was currently outside of her smith shop, the rhythmic clang of her hammer floating through Canterlot. It was rare that she didn't have some demanding order to fill for the Royal Guard, so whenever she had free time, she'd work on her own armor.

She smiled down at her work so far. The shining blue metal was very rare to come by, and she was more than happy to slowly work with it, wanting the armor to turn out perfectly. After the attack of Chrysalis and her changelings, Silver had decided it was high time to provide herself a little protection, should anything like that happen again.

Imago was settled in the grass of the Everfree Forest, not too far from the battered old bridge that led to the castle ruins. He was leafing through some old scrolls he'd found, dating back to when changelings were much more abundant in Equestria, and when they had first made contact with the Alicorns. It described the the two Alicorn Princesses and their magic, as observed by changelings studying magic. Imago smiled, his wings buzzing with delight.

Amber Rain was sitting at the waters edge by Horseshoe Bay, just outside of Balitmare. Her emerald eyes were closed, and she was breathing in the spray of the sea. She also listened to the gulls, trying to get a good image in her head for a new painting. She hummed a little tune to herself, and began to think about pony pirates.

Amber burst into a fit of giggles, an image of a ragtag band of goofy ponies trying to run a ship coming to her mind. She snorted a bit as she wondered if the captain would have a pet phoenix, and if so, would it burn his back when it perched.

"Oh gosh," she sighed, trying to regain control of herself. "I better stop laughing before someone sees me and thinks I'm insane!"

Pharate's ears perked up, hearing a loud clang reverberating around him. Following the noise, he saw a peach coloured earth pony outside her shop.
"Ohohoho!" he giggled, wings buzzing as he landed. "I think this is going to be fun!"

Silvers ear flicked as she rested her work down to cool. She'd just finished making a set of shoulder armor, and she panned on taking a rest before moving on to the ankle braces. She trotted across her working station to a pitcher of lemonade she had prepared earlier.

Pouring herself a glass, she absentmindedly watched some unicorns walk by. She huffed a little, once again reminded that she was one of few earth ponies living in the capital.

Steel rifled through a trash can in a dreary Canterlot alley. The garbage holding no spoils, he huffed and bucked it over. The pegasus huffed again. It wasn't fair. He was filthy, starving, and in desperate need of a ballpeen hammer. His metal leg was riddled with dents and sctatches, mostly from falling in the streets to sleep. Ten years,of service, one accident, and he was a nopony. He huffed one last time before heading deeper into the alley.

Silver Lining took a long drink of lemonade, savoring the bittersweet coolness. She bushed a bit of her mane out of her eyes again, and to her dismay it was a bit sweaty. She shook her head and sighed, then decided to simply return to her work.

The ankle braces will be much quicker to make... she thought. Silver began to pound away yet again, the sound of metal on metal echoing through the area.

Colton flew over the rich city, seeing all the high class ponies below. But one rang out louder than the others, the one in the ally alone. He cocked his head at the sight, looking to his sword and then back to the Pegasus in the ally. Dropping down to the ally, but hovering above Steel, "Hey, that wasn't nice." he pointed back to the trash he has knocked over.

Gender: female
Age: 19(I consider the Wonderbolt academy like collage)
Appearance: Light, sky, blue body and a thick messy rainbow mane and tail. Bright light red eyes.
Personality: Adventurous, brave, loyal to friends, and very protective of her title as toughest pony.
Other: outside of the episodes, she has mini-adventures to far places, her speed allows her to be back on set(jk, but she does get around)

The changeling flittered over to Silver, a mischeivous smile upon his face. "Hey! Watcha making?"

Steel ran a hoof through his unkempt mane.
"Why should it matter to-"
He looked up at Colton. The pegasus eyed the sword cautiously.
"Are you a guard?"

Hellena paused by a crack in a wall, staring at it intently. Her horn glew, blowing away the dust covering the wall. A small mural was revealed
"I remember this." she muttered raspily to herself, inspecting it. "We drew that years ago. Before the accident..."

Silver replied without looking up. "I'm making some armor. If you'd like to place an order, theres a book over there where you can leave your name, measurements, and armor you want made."

"...Uhha." Pharate said after a moment. "From what I see, that doesn't really compare to what we use for the commanders, and sometimes the queen. But heh, what do I know?"

That caught Silver Linings attention.

She turned around and frowned. "Queen? There's no Que-"

The peach earth ponys jaw dropped in shock as she stared at Pharate. She quickly realized that she was staring at a honey-variant of the same creatures that had attacked Canterlot not long ago. The same creatures who'd invaded the country and took the Royal Guard captive.

"Ch-ch-changeling...."

"Why yes! I would very much like to know that I'm a changeling." Pharate giggled, dropping down to the ground. "I see your fear there. I can see all kinds of emotions, and there's your fear."

Name: Neiro (Pron.: Nee-row)
Age: 12
Gender: Female
Species: Earth Pony
Personality: Shy, skittish, timid. Once she trusts someone she tends to get very clingy.
Appearance: She's a a pale peach coloured pony with a multi-coloured pink and purple mane. The mane is long and gets into her face lots.
Cutie Mark: A book with a bookmark sticking out of it.
Other: She's quite an intelligent pony, she reads a lot and is curious by many things.

Silvers surprise shifted to angry as her eyebrows arched down. She threw her glass at Pharate, missing him by a few feet. "Get out of here before I call the guards!" Silver shouted, reaching for her axe.

OOC: Accepted c:

"Whoa whoa whoa," The honey-coloured changeling backed up. "My Queen won't be happy if you kill me. Maybe she's extrasuper paranoid of ponies going to kill her, but still!"

"I don't want you dead, I want you off of my property!" Silver growled, her ears pressing back against her skull. "Changelings hanging around my establishment is bad for business!"

OOC: Requires Colton's response...

"Oh." Pharate's eyes glowed as he transformed into a double of Silver. "Ponies hanging around my establishment is bad for business!" he said in a perfect immitation of her voice.

Neiro leafed through the pages of a book she had picked up; 'The Pony Creator'. She was sitting in a chair in the library, piles of books on the desk in front of her. She frowned. She had come across countless spelling and punctuation errors in this book, unlike some of the others. The book was very old and tattered, though it was still good enough to read.

Hellena stood back up, her horn glowing a bright yellow to recover the tiny mural. "I've forgotten how much Canterlot has evolved over the years." she muttered. "Maybe I can head to the library and catch up."

Silver Linings jaw went slack, and then she glared sharply at her mirror image. "I do not sound like that!" she snorted angrily. "Now, get lost!"

"Well, it technically is." Pharate said, a yellow flame enveloping his form revealing the small changeling. "But alright, I guess I can leave. Just don't go running to me when Queen Chrissy attacks~" He flew away, laughing.

"What, no. Though I have had worked for them for quite some time now. I make armor and other metalic materials anypony can pay for. I can mold swords, spears, axes, shields, arrows, armor and some utility stuff like silverwhere." he paused, "Though no one really liked taking to me, I am a conservative/tidy type, and... You don't look like you live in a house." he flew down closer, "The covers on your parts are slightly rusted and sun-bleached. Your wing creaks from the dry rust, and the rubber lining is gone from the hoof end." he continues to look over Steel, "You should really take care of this stuff, it really means life and death for you, but who wants to think about it when it can be completely ignored with the proper adjustments, replacements, and add-ons." he seemed to really, really talk.

OOC: will bring RD in in a few.

Hellena's head snapped around, hearing a voice going on about something on how to take care of a steel and rubber thing. Whatever it meant, the voice could always be a threat. Silently, the gaunt white mare crept to the corner, towards the voices, her horn still glowing yellow in case she had to defend herself.

Steel sat down, intently listening to Colton. The pegasus knew an impressive amount.
"What's your name, metalworker? I'm Lieuten- um...Steel. Just Steel." He added a little shamefully.
His hoof creaked and groaned as he ran it through his unkempt mane.

Hellena peeked around the corner, seeing a pair of pegasus stallions. One had a disheveled mane and what seemed to be an artificial leg and wing. The other was in better condition.
"Hmm." Hellena grunted to herself, flattening her ears. What do ponies do in the alleys anyway? Well, apart from rediscovering childhood memories.

Neiro jotted some notes down on a piece of paper next to the book. She frowned, realizing how little she had read so far. She picked up the book and trotted over to the librarian's desk, leaving her 'study space'.
"Erm, excuse me.. I was wondering if I could possibly borrow this?" She asked quietly, trying not to disturb other ponies in the library. Neiro placed the book onto the counter.

OOC: I knew I was missing an RP, just couldn't remember the name.

Colton let his head droop sideways, "You were going to say Lieutenant Steel, yes?" he brought his eyes to the dirty ponies face, "Oh, I'm Colton, and I'm a blacksmith out in Cloudsdale, but as you heard I do more than weapons and armor... Ok, if you were a lieutenant somewhere, why are you so run down? Shouldn't one of you guys by living in the castle or in a pent house somewhere?" he still hovered above the ground.

Rainbow Dash is out sleeping on a cloud as it drifts over to Canterlot, and unaware she has floated so far from Ponyville.

Pharate drifted around the sky lazily, bored once again. A lot of ponies were starting to come to turns with the changelings, though many were still skeptical about the love-sucking creatures. Particularly the queen. "Where is she?" Many had asked, but none got an answer. If the paranoid queen wanted to stay hidden, she stayed hidden. Most of her own subjects didn't even know where she was, she was that secretive.
"Including me." Pharate muttered to himself.

OOC: Would it be alright if I joined at Starlight Stream from Rainbow factory?

OOC: If you want, I guess. I never joined Rainbow Factory or had the time to read through it.

Steel shook his head. "Ex-lieutenant." He flapped his wings to meet Colton's hovering level. The,mechanical wing revved its gears every flap. "No room in th military for a handicapped pegasus."
