Man, I noticed earlier today how many of the rabid, stalk-and-harass happy "fans" of **** are usually Paper Mario and BK fanboys - and those fandoms aren't known for being toxic, but they have usernames or themes related to it. It's that chilling feeling that I might've been THIS close to being one of them, if I didn't start getting crazy critical of myself during high school.

the fire emblem community is also really toxic. you have the elitists who hate everything after radiant dawn and look down on everyone else vs the fates dickriders who only play for the fanservice and will start massive flamewars over which anime girl is best

there's always gonna be toxic parts of every fanbase, that's a given. The variable is how much of a certain fanbase is toxic, and how the toxicity affects the enjoyment of said thing. (R&M and SU really prove my point here)

Yeah pretty much. For example, you can't compare Sonic that's a fruit salad with lots of good and bad things taking the spotlight, or SU which has majorly the staff fighting rabid fans who are doing ****ty things. Undertale too - it got the fame of toxicity because of the twitch spam, but it wasn't REALLY that until the incident of the needle cookie because people were still contributing with a lot of cool things months before.

Someone drew Chara in swimwear or something(don't remember too well but it was not as suggestive as you might think, just weird), a crazy person in their righteous SJW anger assumed they were a pedophile, and what better what to deal with it than to put needles inside a cookie and gift it to the artist in a con, banning food presents from it altogether.

Thankfully the artist got lucky and caught it before they got a punctured tongue or worse, sooo yeah. That was all over twitter and tumblr, and like the Skylanders issue of getting harassed by Spyro fans, I'm almost sure this drove away most major artists from the fandom(aside from the usual tame fanart), and now there's more bad than good.

Aren't Kirby fans the ones who think the franchise has no bad games or something? Not saying they're wrong, but some people really like to make the franchise look superior to all the others, kinda like Zelda fans.

Kirby has bad apples, but that's the thing, they're nowhere close to a majority, vocal or otherwise. It was acceptable to **** on Epic Yarn for a year then the entire fandom noticed what they were becoming and shut down the spinoff prejudice real quickly.

Unless you're under 13, then you'll say some really stupid **** about the games. Been there, done that.

No one said pure and innocent is the same as good and kind.

The "No bad games" thing for Kirby is both truthful and kind of an inside joke at this point.

The thing with something like Zelda is that, for as much as people like to put it on a pedestal and say it has no bad games, there's still a toxic part of the community that will fight over which one exactly to put on that pedestal, as well as having those internal arguments such as whether or not Skyward Sword is good at all.

With Kirby, the whole "no bad games" thing is more like a funny observation than it is bragging about how good the franchise is. Because Kirby has been so experimental and because of the kind of adaptable character he is, there hasn't really been a situation where people think a game in the series is anything less than alright, whether you're a hardcore Kirby fan or not. People still find something to love and enjoy in every single Kirby game. It's less "haha my franchise is better than yours we have no bad games take that" and more "you can play pretty much any game in this series and you'll still be satisfied, isn't that weird?"

And just because of the nature of the character you don't really find much toxicity at all because literally everyone loves Kirby. He's such a charming character and it's such a charming franchise that there really isn't a whole lot in the series that's worth being toxic about. You do get exceptions every now and then, but they're extremely few. There was that phase with Epic Yarn(I was kind of part of that too back when it was cool to hate Epic Yarn) but like Bifrost said people quickly got over that. The only reason people really disliked it at all was because of the inability to die but since that was the only real complaint with the game people got over that because it was still just another good experimental title for the series, just more publicized than the other ones like Canvas Curse.

Yeah, people like to give that gen **** for ramping up the inanimate objects and having a lot of expies of Gen I pokémon, but honestly, that's exactly how it got so memorable. I no longer think of just Chanseys on their category, I also think of Audinos; I care more about Klink than Voltorb(though Klinklang can **** right off for being a disapppointing third form), etc etc. The entirely new stuff is also amazing, though I'm that rare species of internet person that like Sigilyph.

Gen 5 has some good Pokemon, and some bad like Garbodor. It's mainly the story that gets a bit wonky for me.

I love the Trash and Ice Cream to be honest. Really grew on me as I matured as a Pokemon fan. Cryogonal too.


Beartic though. One of my favorite animals EVER, finally Pokemon, as it looks so damn dumb. There's a great idea there, but it's design is just a failure of it.

Beartic is definately one of the weakest designs. Ducklett line felt like they were ticking a request box and they're just enough to pass, Cryogonal is interesting but now it'd fit better as an UB, but while Cubchoo is adorable and has nice potential, Beartic just has the ice beard and the world's most unecessary crotch fur. Couldn't he like have ice hands, or have two main colors like his pre-evo?
