some characters not working [CLOSED]

I just purchased 2 boxes of characters, which is a total of 7 characters. Three of them won't work...they are Dragon's Peak, Winged Boots, and Sparx the Dragonfly. When I place them on the portal it says to please put a skylander on the portal of power. Can anyone tell me why this is so? I'm perplexed. Any help would be appreciated,,thank yousmilie

Okay, I admit, that was a bit rude. They aren't actually characters, but well.. it's hard to explain. Put it on with an actual character and you'll see.

Those register in the games as magic items. you need to put them on with characters.

thanks for replying....please have patience..I'm totally new at this game. Can you tell me which are "actual characters" and/or where I can find a list of all available characters for this game? I really appreciate your help...you're great!!! smilie

The dudes, like the ones that have the different bases.

Water has a splash type base
Earth has a crystal/rock type base
Magic has this purple/brown base with random squigglies on it
Fire has flaming base
Tech has base with gears
Undead has skull on it.
Air has a cloud
Life has leaves
Special items have rocks.
