Karu looked at it with his permanent frown and then got up, testing his mobility. At least he'd still be able to fight somewhat....no bow for him though...for a while too. Man......He could maybe one-hand his spear though two hands is the best. He could probably use a knife to some extent, but basically he's out of commission for fighting right now. He sighed. "Thanks." Karu muttered to her and then walked on, feeling much more comfortable now. His arm didn't hurt so much now it was secured in place.

"No. We're on the other side of the mountain now. And your friends have apparently for some reason decided to move on without you." He said grimly, studying the ground. "If we cover enough ground, we should be able to catch up to them by nightfall."

"Karu..." Kitty sighed. "You really should rest. My friends can wait." She paused. "You're a little more important than them right now. You're injured." She said quietly.

Karu grunted a few times, stepping over fallen logs, avoiding streams and all that. He traveled at quite a brisk pace despite the weight he was carrying and his injuries.

He faintly smiled, seeing her leave. She'd already cracked his heart and would continue to do so until his stone heart broke. Karu turned away and nestled himself under a tree, in one of the darkest areas around. This way he could hide and still see everything.

"Kitty!" Sapphire saw Kitty walking towards them and jumped up, running over to her. "You're back! Where's Karu?"
Kitty looked away. "He...left..." she replied faintly.
"Oh." Sapphire shrugged. "Well, that's ok. We can still defeat the Overlord. We're just about to leave, so you can help us pack."
"Ok." Kitty murmured. She looked back at the forest for a moment and then looked away.
Kitty helped the rest of the group pack up and they continued on their journey to Overlord Zenon's palace. The rest of the group moved on ahead, while Kitty trailed behind, wondering where Karu was.
The group had set up camp that night. The next day they packed up. Sapphire seemed to be nervous.
"Guys," she said. "We're about two days away from Overlord Zenon's palace. And there are a few enemies around this area, so we have to be careful."
"Understood." Ty nodded. The rest of the group did the same.
Kitty had stayed silent for most of the time.
Karu got up, feeling groggy and hurt. He tried to remember what happened the previous day, but nothing came to him. Then he remembered. Kitty! And bolted awake. It was nighttime, but he still found the ashes of their fire. How long was he asleep? Karu took his stuff in one arm and started trudging towards the direction they took off.

The rest of the group were asleep. They were closer to Overlord Zenon's palace now. Kitty was keeping watch. She couldn't sleep. They were in enemy territory, and the ocassional enemy drifted by, but Kitty defeated it with ease. She sat back, looking up at the clear sky, watching the stars. She wondered where Karu was. She couldn't stop thinking about him.
ooc: oh. I was confused when you said in post 833 "The group had set up camp that night. "(implying that it was the next night) and misread "The next day they packed up." My bad. Uhh...ignore the nighttime comment then.
Karu gritted his teeth. Not good. It appeared that he wasn't the only one tracking the group. If signs are correct. A large number of creatures were also tracking them and had grouped up. He had to hurry! Karu quickened his pace as fast as possible, despite his injuries.

Kitty heard a rustling and zipped around, seeing a small enemy jump out of the bushes. He saw Kitty and raised his small spear, making a strange gurgling noise. He ran towards her.
Kitty sighed, grabbed her sword and jumped up. "Get lost," she murmured, smacking it with her sword. The little creature was thrown by the force of the sword a few metres away. When it landed, it suddenly dissolved into darkness and faded into the ground. Kitty sighed and sat down again.
ooc: ugh. Sorry, I've caught a little sickness so I'll stop here for now. x_x
Karu knew he'd never reach the party in time to warn them of the incoming ambush. He was way too slow to catch up with the monsters that had at least a day's lead on him. He gritted his teeth, thinking of his options.

Karu sighed, dropping everything except for his spear in a nearby bush. He started running, faster than ever before, spear in hand. He leaped and slashed a tree vertically, then he twirled around, one-handing his staff horizontally slashing another. Karu stabbed another tree. He stabbed trees periodically. This way he'd be able to find his stuff later. Hopefully he would get there in time. He saw two campfires in the distance. TWO??? Disgaea...........he had to hurry! They'd catch them within the hour!

Another couple of enemies crept up on the group, but Kitty defeated them easily. More enemies seemed to be arriving. Was it just because they were in enemy territory, or was it something else completely?
Karu had to stop to regain his breath, using his spear as a crutch. The fire of that enemy camp burned out. He gritted his teeth and then yelled in the loudest voice he could. "KITTY!!! AAAAMBUUUSSSHHH!!!!!" And got pretty darn lightheaded from that shout. He just hoped it would be heard.

Kitty, who was lying down, sat up immediately, staring into the distance. With her excellent hearing, she had heard Karu scream her name, along with the word 'ambush'. "Guys, wake up!" she yelled, jumping up.
The others woke up.
"What...?" Sapphire mumbled.
"There's going to be an ambush!" Kitty cried, looking around.
"What?" Sapphire repeated, grabbing her staff and jumping up too.
And then....all hell broke loose. Monsters 20 times as strong as the ones Kitty had fought earlier had surrounded the camp and attacked viciously! Karu started running again, but at a slower pace. He was tired, running so much, but he got out his spear, ready to fight, even with one arm!

"Whoa!" Sapphire cried, blocking a monsters attack with her staff and then shooting a few ice spikes at it.
Ty swung his sword around, attacking at least 3 monsters in each swing.
Kitty fought alongside Ty, but couldn't help getting distracted and thinking about where Karu was. If Kitty had heard him, he shouldn't be too far away.
Karu found himself face to face with the leader of the group of monsters attacking. He was in the back, commanding. A giant troll with not a single ounce of fat on him. Completely muscular and had a giant axe to boot with it too. Runes were covered over his skin as well. Karu growled, avoiding an axe swipe, but just barely. He's so fast!

"I don't know," Sapphire called back, "but we have to keep fighting!"
Kitty continued to wonder where Karu was. She couldn't see him in the crowd of monsters.
Fortunately, Karu was faster, yet others were surrounding him. He was distracted by a bite from a cerebrus and didn't watch the leader, who backhanded him. He groaned, sent flying right towards the group.

"Karu!" Kitty cried, dropping to the ground beside him.
Ty and Sapphire immediately defended them and fought the monsters who were about to attack them.
