Well it doesn't show the actual starter pack, which has been revealed on the trailer in lost islands. Also says release date is nov. 1 which we know is untrue.

Well it's available for purchase though? So I don't know what's going on. Just found it while browsing what else they had while ordering Hot Head !

Shipping says unavailable. Still says rating pending. It's just a placeholder. Might mean this Tuesday it'll come out. Really means nothing til more retailers put it up. Still no one else has even a placeholder and the Internet as a whole is otherwise quiet about it. Waste of a heart attack.

I just came back from TRU trying to make use of the BOGO 50% deal + Skylander case deal and while I was waiting I saw 3 boxes that had a label saying that the merchandise is for 11/20/2012 release. I did not ask the rep to open it or anything like that but could it be the BattleGrounds packs? Any other merchandise that we know of that is set for 11/20 release?

The Boxes are not the same as any of the Skylander Boxes that I've seen. They were long and from the looks of the packaging pictures it looks like a box that can hold 10 of the battle grounds starter packs. I could not see any identifying marks to what was inside nor did I bother to have the rep look at the contents BUT I clearly saw it was merchandise for 11/20.

I work at TRU in Electronics. We've received a ton of distro for Black Friday and the WiiU launch. We have street dated items being held in the back dated as far out as the 28th of this month.

I have seen zero boxes of Skylanders: Battlegrounds. I go into work every day hoping I'll find them there, just waiting, with a street date sticker slapped on the side...

Did you get boxes that have a street date of Nov 20? That is what I saw yesterday at my local TRU. They were a bit long and they had 3 boxes.

It's possible you haven't gotten them yet. It was a very abrupt release date only put out a couple days ago.

I heard the Royal Double Trouble variant will be exclusive to GameStop while all other retailers get a regular S2 DT.

Doesn't make sense for a gs exclusive. The trailer on lost islands shows the box with RDT but doesn't say anything about GameStop. Other retailers are just using the only pic we had of the box back when acti first made it official. Wasn't until LI trailer that we even saw the package with RDT and the chest.

Look at the pics. Still shows brown chest and s1 standard dt. There's no way gs gets RDT AND plat chest and everyone else gets poop. Rumor has it......

I preordered three of these yesterday, when I went to pick up my second Wii U.

Here you guy everyone! As you can see, Royal Double Trouble right there on the left. Unfortunately I can't open this up to see what the chest does yet, but I will let you know as soon as I can. Also, I saw no mention of GS exclusive other than on the website, but based on what everyone is saying it may just be GS.

Have it. Royal DT is absolutely an S2 figure, but the chest does nothing new in console versions. Given that, I suspect the old dragon chest would do the same thing in the app, but time will tell on that.

I saw this today at TRU. Isn't that S1 DT though? Doesn't S2 have a little one with him?

I honestly didn't notice the difference in the DT paint scheme (it's pretty subtle), and DT is one of my favs.

$50 for 3 S1 figs and a repainted treasure chest is a joke IMO.

It is a S1 pose but has a S2 base and shows up as a royal double trouble on giants. Has wow pow and everything just like a series 2.

Thanks for the info. Why not make it the S2 sculpt then? That's really strange.

Man, I wish they sold it with just the portal and an exclusive figure (for like $25).

Not entirely...I need a regular S2 Cynder myself anyway now that I've decided to get those, and the portal should be easy enough to sell. The chest might fetch $11 on ebay, and the portal $15 That alone reduces the cost of RDT by a significant amount.
