As cheap and shiny looking as most Megabloks product, unfortunately. I'm guessing that we were looking at hand-painted prototypes in the first teaser images previously, since they had a much flatter surface finish.

I'm also not a fan of their penchant for including elements that are somewhat compatible with the system but don't match the aesthetic of the building blocks (LEGO, of course, is *much* better at this, although they've been giving in a lot more lately).

On the other hand: CHOMPIES!

I'm sure we'll have these in the house, just not sure they'll be integrated into the LEGO collection.

While they may not be the highest quality, I remember playing with Pokemon toys as a kid that looked worse than these. And hey, if it means I can have poseable toys of some characters, I might buy those ones at least.

I like them a lot. Too bad you need to buy them separately and they aren't what we're made with the game. Might still buy it though, provided they all come in one big set. If it costs $100+ to buy everything, forget it.

I want Spyro and the troll. Badly. Not really interested in the rest, though.

What in the world is the helicopter thing?

My kids will not 'get' the troll bot thing. Not sure exactly which enemies I would have preferred. I was / am hoping for scenery and toys that do things like throw boulders or have parts that show their powers.

Yeah i can't see them doing that, which is probably why Megabloks got them in the first place.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and try them out once they get released. I really don't care for Megabloks compared to Legos, so I guess we'll see.

I'd buy a few of the Chompies to have in case I display my Skylanders, but I'll pass on the rest.

Slightly OT but still relevant - I went into an EB Games to pre-order the SG collector card starter deck today. I saw World of Warcraft Megablocks - not bad...

Pfft! They must use a template for their pages. The included Amazon link goes nowhere.

Interesting that there will be codes and a web site just for the Megabloks sets. Seems like they're really trying to keep the play concepts introduced in the video games.

but anyway not fond of where megablox is going with their designs of figuresIremember the Dragons fire and ice days when their toys were actually pretty cool. the blocks themsilves were pretty lame but everyone bought them for the figures which was where megablox really shone.

now all they are is a third rate lego impersonator. quite sad really.

I do like the sheep though. I wonder if they could be bought in bulk.

I will have these...though I mainly want the spyro one LOL

EB Games will get them in and the last report from them was soon after the game comes out. They may have a definitive date now...
