I luckily was in HMV on a new shipment day and saw 2 Warnado's 2 Camo's 2 Lightning Rod's and 2 Zook's and they were only €10 each

about $20 for whamshell. I got it for the $8.99 but with expedited shipping it was about $20

Amen! The only Skylander I didn't pay retail for was a flocked stumpy because I missed the promo. I paid $13 for it. $9 + 4 for shipping. So essentially retail on regular figure.

I've been lucky enough to get everything at retail

CONFESSION: I panicked back earlier this year (?JAN/FEB/MAR?) when I couldn't' find anything (before I found your site with its AWESOME advise!)... I had my son's dad get the Legendary pack on AMAZON for $75 & the Vault for $35 (including shipping)... 3 weeks later the L's came out again at regular price (DOH!)... I felt so bad for not waiting but my son was so happy he had them so soon that his Dad was proud of the purchase (go figure: boys & their toys!) I don't regret the Vault price as I shared it with a few of his friends. BTW: the only item STILL in its packaging is the 2nd FLOCKED Stumpy we won, everything else is in play, usually against Bakugons or Matchcars on his bedroom floor... until Giants appear.

I love idea of this game and these figures but hell, this is the greatest money scam ever, if you only bought the 32 basic figures and at retail pricing, even if you got them all in 3 packs= about $369.00
started with 3 and asumeing you got the volcano vault = $60.00
4 expanion packs= 4x25=$100
8 3 packs for 24 figures= 8x25=$200
1 1 pack= $9
now add to that the sidekicks $7 each for the chips x 4=$28+ shipping (2x4)= $36

conservative estimate of $405 invested in one kids game, and I don't know about you but I know I will do it again for the giants.

one would think they could at least throw us a bone and offer a down loadable patch so the green bases could get both weapon paths or something.

Every Skylander I've bought was in stores. I'd rather make the frequent rounds of phone calls then go through the hassle of shopping online without a credit card. Though when a store DOES have what I'm looking for, the stressful bus and skytrain trips where I'm worrying that the thing I want will be sold by the time I get there isn't all that fun. Still, I'd rather do that than shop online. It was only ever a problem once when Empire of Ice was new, and I didn't get to the store before it was sold. In my area, employees aren't allowed to hold on to Skylanders for you. It's first come first serve, which was why I was so baffled the time the Toys R Us employee held the Double Trouble 3 pack for me when it just came out.
