Ahhhhh...i don't think anybody will trade there in-game varient for a non in-game(home made custom painted)varient...unless they have a spare they found....of witch, it tolk me months of constantly going back to target...(and i got lucky) was there so much made friends(fellow skylander fan)with an associate and he called me when they got a shipment....he said "he couldn't hold it for me"....i said "no prob..thanks for letting me know you got some".....when i got their...(it tolk me 20 min's to get their) their was !one! left....he said they got just 5. Got very lucky because they never got anymore in....was wanting to get one for my brother.

No, not programming, as in take the actual Dark Blast Zone figure (that's been confirmed a Gamestop exclusive), and paint his flames purple in the real world. Won't change in game, but will still look awesome!

It seems my sense of humour/sarcasm is a little too subtle for some so let me make this clear. I am NOT in the business of selling customs, I am doing this for my own fun only. There are only TWO or these in the world, and they are both staying firmly around my portal.

This one is a solid Resin cast, the original "test" of the mold was Ice. It melted

I only have the photo to remember him by! Hence, this one.

I have lots of tips!!!

Do people want a guide on casting resin? There is a lot of info, and I warn you it isn't cheap!!!

I Used a load of 2 part Liquid Silicone to make a mold.

1) Simply put Eruptor in a box and pour the mixed silicone over him SLOWLY. Stand him at the bottom of the box and make sure the silicone completely covers him and also goes about 1cm above his highest feature.
It may help to stick him down with Blu-tak/Plasticine or something so Silicone doesn't leak under him.

2) Let set.

3) Carefully with a super sharp knife cut around the edge of the figure to separate the mold into ALMOST two halves.
Start at the bottom, by the base which should be visible outside the silicone and work down till you are about 2cm away from the "top" of the mold where his hands are.

4) Do step 3 on both sides and carefully pry the mold apart, using the knife cut the section between his legs free.

5) Pull the mold apart (not completely!) and gently wiggle Eruptor out of the mold.

6) let Gently fit back together again, replace it in the box upside down so the hole for the base is now at the top.

Next, casting.

Mix Resin (That is a whole 'nother story!) and slowly pour into the mold.
Tip the mold around as you do so to get rid of air pockets, some of these are VERY hard to get rid of without cutting extra air channels. Pour about 30% of the resin in and tip the mold around a lot then a bit more, repeat until full.
When I say full Fill until the resin reaches the bottom of the BASE of the figure, not your stick down material. There should be a little gap left at the top so it doesn't overflow.

I pushed an actual RFID chip into the bottom about 1mm before I finished filling, so the chip is encased inside the resin. Only do this if you have a spare RFID chip from a Skylander
It helps to let the resin set a bit so its gooey before putting the rfid chip in, don't try to push it down, simply pour more resin over the top of it.

Let set.

Carefully remove Resin from mold, shouldn't require cutting.

Most impressive Pyrofer...well done. I also know how to do this...and those want to try this, remember the longer you take to make your mold the better the finish product will look. And yes the meterials are costly...but when done...as you see with his...it looks way cool.

I to was going to do this...but can't aford the materials right now...of all the non-in-game varients, i like the clear ones the best...but haven't found any....and the ones i saw on e-bay where WAY out of my price range. When i can aford to make some i'll show them..

I found some cheaper Silicone to make the mold with. Seems the 2 part liquid stuff is the most expensive, the cheaper option is the melt your own that you buy in blocks and heat.

Still looking for good resins, the problem if you buy in bulk is they do go off after a while. Buy small quantity and pay through the nose for it.



If people are interested, I used "Blu-stuff" from ebay 2 part liquid Silicone.

You can do ANY skylander if you dismantle them into bits. Eruptor is the only one I could find that would come out well as a whole piece.

Just finished silvering my boomer. He looks just like a real silver boomer. So shocking. Got a spare S1 Flameslinger in the mail and decided to paint him gold. Unfortunately my gold pen couldn't get into some parts so I decided to use a gold nail polish to get the nooks and cranies. Then I noticed the paint had shimmer to it and through off the ink. I could've left well enough alone but as an artist, I couldn't. So I decided to paint the figure a shimmering gold. This looks sooooo cool. Wish I could post pics. I was thinking about doing the same with boomer.

Looks good CTFdad..liked what you did to the sword...thought about doing something like that to my Epic Ultra Chop Chop's sword. but decided to just leave it all copper.
Well i have 2 Tree Rex's ...(do to getting the 3DS starter to get Punch Pop Fizz)...but i couldn't decide what color to paint him....saw some do the legendary paint scheme already, so thought mine needs to be different....they might do a Legendary Tree Rex...and i know they will never do any of mine...so i need something different. Well finaly decided on a paint scheme.....

His name is Sequoia Tree Rex....because he's big and he's ...red


Since red wood turns silver after a while i did the cut off parts silver.



And seeing him alone he dosen't look to different from normal Tree Rex....so i tolk a side-by-side pic.

i have seen so many incredible customs on here, that you guys have inspired me to get back into painting and sculpting my own. i have set up a page primarily for myself to keep all my images of my custom production but feel free to like or follow the page and comment any suggestions you may have about my customs. i intend to make the entire alter ego series if possible, and the entire process i will post on this page.
