It was mentioned before that the original Skylanders won't go past the level 10 mark, unless there are re-posed versions of them that will give them new abilities and go past level 10, like the confirmed Cynder and Zook. The chips inside the original Skylanders aren't updated to Giants.

I guess you didn't read the picture link I posted.

Which brings me to answer my own question that this information isn't really coming from Activision or Toys For Bob. Either way, if it's confirmed they won't be then I won't bother with Giants. If that is confirmed as hogwash then I will gladly be getting Giants.

...That was mentioned when Giants was revealed at Toy Fair, Hexin. Come on...

And I did upload the picture there. Now if they changed the chips of the original Skylanders to go past level 10, but they haven't mentioned that.

I'm not sure the makers of the game have explicitly said the originals weren't going to be able to level up or else both secondary sources would have mentioned it and not be hazy about it.

NOTE: I'm not calling you a liar. I just want to read it from the horse's mouth and not a secondary source.
