The ninja stole through the smoke and saw laurel. Her star spun through the air in an arc and took out one of the soldiers. She caught it on return.

Laurel heard dante's voice, faint and a ways away. She also heard a thump of a dead body as she scaled the building. She clawed her way sideways until she was over another soldier, who was adjusting armor or something, because he sounded metallic. She the proceeded to drop the body a bit in front of the guy, and glide over to the other wall.

The one soldier who happened to be the last man standing, looked startled at the body and looked up for a source.
And ducked as Yuffie's ninja star almost took him out.
He shot at her.

Yuffie bolted into a run up the side of a building and landed on top. The angle she'd thrown the star caused a return to her and she caught it.

Yuffie managed to see a glimpse of Dante through the smoke and jumped down off the building, flipping through the air, planted her feet on a building wall and scaled down it rapidly.

Dante reverted to his demon form, shooting up into the sky. He cleared all the smoke away to a point.
