Many video games have recurring villains. It's no big deal. Mario has Bowser, Zelda has Ganondorf, Mortal Kombat has Shao Kahn, Sonic has Robotnik/Eggman and so on.

That's simply your opinion. I for one enjoy having Invader Zim disguised as Quan-Chi from Mortal Kombat be the protagonist. It's a refreshing change of pace from all these "SO SERIOUS, DARK AND EVIL" villains.

^He's a villian for a children's game. What do you expect? All villians in kids games are like that. Crash had Cortex, Spyro had Ripto, etc, etc.

And what in the world makes you think Malefor will be better?

i think he will use old arkeyans or something similar as minions. so he won't be weak or boring

Dunno if anyone read the Nintendo Article I had posted. One little mention seemed to indicate Kaos won't be alone.

He's not the only villain apparently there is some new ancient species locked away by the giants that are now away and wreaking
havoc. I believe that who ever is the leader of this species is going to be the final boss but I'm not certain

Malefor had a interesting speech if you bothered to listen to him during DOTD. After that he became generic evil guy A.

kaos's return reminds me of eggman's return too repetitive.

What is they brought back the original villians... Ripto and Gnasty Gnorc! That would definatley be epic!

Gnasty I think would fit in real well with the Skylanders universe. (Just look at the Drow and Cyclops)

But Ripto on the other hand got a bit annoying after the billionth time that he was the badguy. That being said though, it'd be cool if they released "Boss" Skylanders. Ones you couldn't play with per se, but would function like the Adventure Packs. You'd get a level, and at the end you'd get a new bad guy to battle. That'd allow them to bring in any number of villains from the Spyro series without disrupting the main storyline.

I rather a new villain. Kaos was funny at times but having him as a villain again with the same minions, same lair and same motivation, dialogue and methods would be like much like The Hangover Part II.

I'd take anything over Malefor for the villain.
Anything.

Personally I think Malefor would fit in well, maybe as a guest appearance or a mini-boss, but not a final boss. He is brought up in both Cynder and Hex's bios, and in Creepy Citadel I thought the dragon headed statues kind of looked like him.

With that said, I see nothing wrong with Kaos returning, I found him enjoyable. If I had to bring back an old villain though, Gnasty Gnorc WOULD fit in really well, but I gotta say, I loved the Sorceress. When it comes down to sheer cruelty I'd probably put her on equal footing or ahead of Malefor, which if you do consider the Spyro games as a whole could probably be considered one of the darker villains.

If Malefor would return I'd request he gets more of a personality than he did in LoS.

I see nothing wrong with Kaos. They just need to give him a bigger number of funny jokes and less unfunny ones.

I'm reeeally hoping that Glumshanks returns.

I would prefer Malefor to Kaos so the villans they use are mixed up a bit.

We saw what an Undead dragon looks like in Dragon's Peak, perhaps Malefor will look sort of similar.

Malefor was such a generic villain in LoS I just don't want to see him in Skylanders.

I really hope to see Malefor in Giants, maybe in the Dragon's Peak area, if it will be reused. If I remember correcty, in one of those Story Scroll it is said that someday he and his evil undead brother may return to steal the throne of the Dragon's Peak (not sure if I said this correctly).

The scroll talked about the undead brother of the king who actually did steal the throne and who you help get rid of by finishing the level.

No, Andre, the Story Scroll talked about the Dragon's Throne, and how the current Dragon King's evil brother (the undead dragon) would one day attempt to steal the throne, which he did in the Dragon's Peak Adventure Pack.

Kaos was such a great villian. He was amusing, quotable and silly. It would seem strange to put someone sinister and serious into a game like this. Yet, it could work (example: the first Jak & Dater villains were cool and interesting).

However, I do hope the focus is on the new threat and not Kaos.

Just to make this clear, I'm not asking for Malefor (or any previous Spyro villain) to appear. I'm just saying that it would be interesting to see what they could do with him.

Otherwise, Kaos + new species would work out fine. I'd personally want it to work out like Rayman 3 (Sorry for referencing a possibly out there game, but I don't play enough games to know too many other examples), the main villain was mostly just a cartoony, loony, cracked up little guy, while the other villain was a much more imposing, serious character.

I want them to use Hektore honestly. It felt like he had a small role in the 3DS version. I mean we really only see him try to blast us down in the level (which gets kind of annoying now that I've 100% everything..) but I'd be cool to have him as a bonus boss. moar figures.

Hektore was destroyed at the end of the 3DS version of Skylanders, Spyroflame.

I know, but they could always make him magically come back.
Heck, Ripto was thrown into lava in Ripto's Rage and came back in like...4 other games.

But this isn't the original series, where villains are magically brought back to life even when they apparently died on-screen.

They could use a new villain to replace Hecktore.

With that in mind, Kaos better have some battle scars from dealing with that dog at the end of the first game!
