I'm pretty sure that you can create a group in google groups that can be secured to only members that the creator of the group let in. All posts are then emailed to the members when they made. If people on here are looking for a way to pass online availability info without helping out the scalpers, it could be a good option.

Scalping rarely seems to make sense financially to me. If you take into account the time involved and the gas to drive all over scooping up the stocks it doesn't seem like much of a profit. But I guess if you are an employee and can cherry pick the stock before it hits the shelves, that's easy money however likely a fireable offensive if caught.

If we can make a way of privately sharing information about when something is in stock, that'd be fantastic. I would've really dug the opportunity to get the Lightning Rod/Zook/Cynder three-pack yesterday, and I'm sure it'll come in handy again when Dragon's Peak eventually becomes available on TRU.com.

Scalping is a viable option. So let say a guy goes and a friend go to the store together. They each land 5 of the new skylanders. At the current cost of 11 dollar lets say for 1. They spend 132 dollars to get 10 pieces. Each piece if sold on ebay will fetch 52 dollars with shipping costs. Lets say the ship for 5 dollars a piece. That means 47 dollars is what they get out of each. That is means they turn 470$ out of 132 dollars. That's for 2 people. Now imagine a scalper brings 4 friends with him and it multiplies out. So yes, it is a profitable margin. Especially considering a scalper knows what is popular and shows up for all hot trend items through their research. Mind you these scalpers probably work night jobs or work in a store themselves a lot of time. They can have other corrupt employees help them. I'm not a math major, but you can make a pretty penny on the scalping market...for very little effort at all. You don't even have to leave your home other than to mail out packages once a day. I don't agree with it, but for young adults with no job prospects other than to work fast food or retail...it's a nice way to make cash fast.

Yeah. As it is, there's the cryptic nature of it like that, and then as someone pointed out, for sites like Amazon.com, you've also got to figure out where the heck to go, because searching for "Lightning Rod Skylanders" doesn't necessarily bring up what they're talking about, either. It'd be real nice if we had a way to help one another that people were comfortable with.

I wasn't encouraging...sorry. But I do agree, we should try to set up a free forum that we can screen people with. Or have a members locked thread that you have to be a registered user and have to have a certain amount of quality posts on to get into it. But that takes time...and well...time...lol to get the kinks worked out. I'm personally too lazy to tackle that. Anyone? Who runs this forum again?

Yes, my buy.com order did get cancelled, so you're tip was great. However, my replacement order with Amazon hasn't been completed yet, so I guess I will have to see.

I agree with you Xerokills that in this instance it may have made an overall profit (But not for those who were at stores that didn't have anything new), but for the people that go to the stores at open everyday, it doesn't seem to be an overall good strategy when time and gas is taken into account.

That's all my point was. I see the same guys that in the past have ran to the matchbox aisle now running to the Skylanders area first. It must make them more money than I think because I would think that most of the time, there isn't anything there and would be wasted time/gas.

That figures Amazon puts up stuff while I was asleep. I could have really used that Empire Of Ice since it's the only previously released pack that I need aside from the Legendary 3 pack.

As I'm sure most of you know, you can always use a tracker. I use zooalert and it sends me emails exactly when a skylander is available. Using that I was FINALLY able to order Prism Break/ Boomer and Voodood just now.

Sweet...Wogasm...just got another 3 pack I need and a Cynder! Yes! Now I hope I come across the new 3 packs today in my travels!

Yeah. Some were nice enough to PM me about it. However, when they sent the message, I was sitting infront of Toys R Us. I really wish I had checked the net on my phone, while up there.

I didn't, though. I just want one, so I can finally be done with this wave, and continue helping others. I already helped Gaiaknight get a L. Rod and Zook single pack, as well as my friend who could only get L. Rod from the TRU event. I got Tashiji on my mind for the next set I find (which has actually been easy when single packs come to mind).

I also want to "FINALLY" update my game collection photos.

I can't wait for this Skylander thing to be done for this. Hopefully they make better decisions for Giants, so one never has to worry about finding figures.

No triple or adventure pack is in stock in mass right now on Amazon.com. If you get a buzz from Zoolert, it's because ONE went up, and the only chance you have at it is one-click buying and a whole lot of luck.

I can't believe I keep missing out on EoI every time Amazon puts it up.

lucky, the walmart near me never has any action packs or single charaters

The only place I've ever seen carry the adventure packs is TRU. Everywhere else just has the single figures.

I just now, finally, got my order from Game Stop! When they had the adventure packs and you didn't get to pick, I went ahead and ordered. Mine was Empire of Ice! I have DC and PS coming from Amazon, so now I just need DP! (And, the Legendary 3 pack.)

I was outside doing a bunch of yard work on my day off and UPS just dropped off my triple pack of Lightning Rod, Cynder, and Zook! Sweet! I was lucky enough to get in on that Amazon order a couple days ago! BOOM!!

Can't wait for the kids to get home and we can play some Skylanders...though Dad may start playing right now...

If I get DP this weekend, I'll be all set until the last 3.

That's the UPC code for the Zook/Lightning Rod/Cynder 3 pack. Like I said, I don't know how useful it might be, but if you take that to a store and ask nicely, they should be able to look it up in the store's computers and find if they have it in stock or not. Hopefully if you've yet to find it, you'll be able to get it in the upcoming weeks.
