It has been revealed that The Dark Master's name is Malefor. That's were the name "The Mountain of Malefor comes from.

Look up Spyro World and go to Dawn Of The Dragon It will tell you there.

It was in the recent issue of Nintendo Power magazine. so, yes, there is proof. Still, this topic has already been discussed elsewhere.

It was misspelled in NP. They wrote it as Malafor. Unless EL is trying not to completely rip off the name "Mountain of Malefor," for reasons I haven't the slightest clue as to why. <.<

I wouldn't be surprised if NP got that bit wrong, but I also wouldn't be surprised if it was true. A lot of "pro" sources about this game are getting a lot of stuff wrong (I've seen it mentioned several places that Cynder was Spyro's nemesis in TEN as well as a few spots that implied there were only two games in the LoS trilogy o.O).
