The interesting thing (and great news for me) is that the Legendary chars count as separate chars in the overall char count and achievements/bonuses.

They also have their own preview videos.

When you go to the char page and move the pointer over the applicable char with a variant, the image will toggle between the alternatives and you can select the Legendary variant.

The great news to me is that when my Ghost Roaster, Ignitor and Dark Spyro arrives, then I will get a better bonus as I will have 24 chars.

so that's where all the sold out figurines are going. lol j/k

I need Dark Spyro and Ignitor still, just got Drill today.

In the game, however there are only 32 heroic challenges. So all three Spyros 'own' the same one. They all however, need to finish individually in that and any challenge in order to get the stat bonus.
