I had the game since Friday and the batteries in the portal of power have already ran out. The only other batteries I have are rechargeable ones. Will they work on the portal or does it only work with alkaline batteries?

Often, the instruction manual tells. If they are lithium, yes. Nickel-cadmium, no.
