I personally think that it is a good addition, but does anyone dislike the idea?

In our times good game cannot exist with multiplayer or coop. It's like a criterion. Nobody wants to play against AI, alive buddy is better.

Yeah, it was a great addition. It was real fun playing with my brother and cousins, sometimes my sister. I agree with AB about it being boring without co-op play.

I like it with or without co-op play. They both have advantages and disadvantages:

Single-Player advantages:
-Chain is mostly non-existent when travelling under normal circumstances.
-Slower-paced and easier to think, if that's what you prefer.
-Go where you want.

Single-Player disadvantages:
-AI Dragon doesn't fight effectively.
-More lonely!smilie

Multi-player advantages:
-Two humans fight more effectively than one human and an AI player.
-You can communicate, and therefore perform platforming more effectively.
-Two heads are better than one when looking for hidden items!smilie
-You have someone to talk to!smilie
-Malefor is a much better final boss in co-op.

Multi-player disadvantages:
-If your playing with a player who isn't that good, or is just plain unco-operative, the whole game can be frustrating to play.
-Easier to die
-Chain can occasionally be bothersome, but it actually creates funny moments more often than frustrating ones!smilie

Overall, I probably prefer co-op. Too bad I rarely get anyone to play with. My best friend played through the whole game with me once, but now he doesn't want to play it for a while. :/

I can understand that. I wouldn't want to play it again for a while if I did that. smilie

Yeah, you make a good point there. But my brother always gets me or himself killed in Malefor's Lair, so I have to put the cheats on for him not to die.

I can never get enough of it!smilie

Malefor is harder in co-op as he has much more health, stronger attacks, and two targets.

When the AI has a heavy orb thingy, it functions terribly. It was near impossible. Good thing i got another person to help.

The only problem I see with Cooperative Play is if you and your partner can kill each other. For example, in the Lego Video Game Series (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc.), in cooperative play you can kill your partner and they can kill you (whether it be accidentally or on purpose). That's the only problem I have with cooperative play. You shouldn't be able to kill or even hurt your partner. I'm not sure if it's in The Legend Of Spyro: Dawn Of The Dragon or not, but if it is, I haven't noticed it when playing with a friend.

But besides that, it was a great addition to the Spyro universe. Playing with a friend was a fulfilling experience for me. Now I have a game of Spyro to show my friends that they can play with me whilst I explain the games to them.

Why thank you!

I'm able to handle the orbs well on my own. I've put up with much worse awkward mechanics in games, especially in Son...*shot*

@SpyroGamer2008: That doesn't happen in DotD. but I wish it did!smilie

I actually like the idea of being able to hurt your partner..... It just makes the game that much more difficult, being made aware of what can happen and all. DotD doesn't do that, sadly (but I'm not complaining).

LOL, yes. Partners can kill each other in lots of games. My brother owns both Indiana Jones and Star Wars games and he's constantly killing me when I play with him. smilie And in my Kim Possible game, when you use multiplayer in minigames you can kill each other there too. It's kinda annoying.

I don't really care about multiplayer. I've enjoyed the earlier Spyro games, GTA and Tomb Raider without it, don't see any point in it really.

It's hardly considered multiplayer when the other dragon is stupidly slowly you down whether another person is controlling it or not.

Much rather prefer online multiplayer.

I had mixed feelings. I know that my friend, who's really new to video games, got it, and had trouble with the controls. So I came over, and guided her on 2P mode. It was fun, and she got used to the controls, but I don't like how Spyro and Cynder are linked up to each other all the time.

Plus, I rarely ever use 2P mode, 'cause my brothers refuse to play it, and I've only played it with two of my friends. .-.

I think that's called griefing or friendly fire. It can be something fun to do if you're just wondering around and are far from your destination.
