Okay, this one I had found, but someone else might have found it as well. Well, anyways, first go to the level "Desert Ruins". Once there, make your way to Hunter's manta-ray challenge. Okay, once you're there, make your way toward the rock face above the portal area. Swim toward the back of the rock face. When you get to the part of the rock face where the game seems to force Spyro to go either left or right with a some-what invisible barrier, swim down on the rock face. (Note: It's the same way that you make Spyro swim when you are leaving the arena in Aquaria Towers in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage/Spyro 2: Gateway To Glimmer. Only for this glitch, it doesn't require you to hold the L1, L2, R1, or R2 buttons whilst swimming to pull off the glitch.) Spyro should eventually start moving forward on the rock. Once you've reached the very end of the rock face there, you can swim around underneath and around the edges of this mini-sub-portal like level.

I doubt it... Spyro WALKS through that challenge portal all the time. However, if you could get out, I'd know how to get out of the glitch...

Easy, just swim on green goo!

Unfortunately, once you leave the area, the glitch doesn't work anymore.

I know. That's because the challenge portal is one Spyro walks through. Wait-- oh, there's no more water in Desert Ruins but that. Actually, if there was, we wouldn't be able to walk in water anyway. It's not one of those jump-on-lava swimming glitches.

Ah-ha! Can anyone try this for me, please (my YotD isn't working recently)? Jump on the pink lava at Midnight Mountain Home three times, then just before you land a fourth time, pause the game. If you hear the vibration, warp to Desert Ruins from the Atlas and go to the challenge area again. Now jump in the water. What happens?

I once tried that... I can't really remember what happened, but it didn't work. I think Spyro got stuck in the challenge area.

Yup. It worked today and I tried it. You walk in it, and for some reason the barriers are down anyway so you can just run off the edge to escape it.

And also, I tried to do a Swimming Glitch in Icy Peak today, but it was too hard. You have to jump on lava to no Sparx as usual, then warp to Icy Peak and reach the crack in the ice and smash it. The twist is, you can't die or will have to restart the glitch and you can't use the shortcut at the end of the level, because for some reason whirlwinds don't work in glitch mode. It's those three TNT guys guarding it that really are the problem. So, when you do get in, what happens? Do you fall to the water bed or something else?

Hey. See when you start swimming in air and then use the level warp cheat, do you think you could continue the swimming-in-air glitch in the level you warp to?

I might try that out to see if it works.

Okay, I did what you said. I got in invincibility glitch mode, and went to Icy Peak. After all of the TNT guys were dead, I then headbashed the crack in the water. Spyro fell through the water like normal, but when he landed, he couldn't move!!!! He was frozen in place. And all the while, ice-like things were coming from underneath his feet, and the lighting kept brightening up and dimming.

Interesting.

Man, that's just like the Seashell Shore walk in water glitch.

Which is: Trigger the Seashell Shore Swim in the Air glitch, swim into the Bluto portal and then exit. Now jump in the water.

Wow! That's probably the least descriptive I've been on this site!

I think that the reason that the glitches do that in either level because for one since the whole level is underwater in Seashell Shore, they didn't expect you to walk around underneath it, and two, in Icy Peak, maybe it's because that water isn't capable for Spyro to walk under (because it's too cold or for some other reason, I don't know).

Sorry for the Double-Post, but I just realized something. Someone on Youtube has taken credit for my glitch find in Desert Ruins!!!! And, since I don't have an account (and will probably not get one until I get a video camera and record with it my glitch videos), I can't post a message to them saying that this glitch was my finding!!!! (And yes, I have checked the dates on the day he posted the video, and the day on this site where I found this glitch. According to this site, I posted the previous message about that glitch 1 month before he even knew about it.)

Sorry about that guys. I got the address to the page all screwy. I had copied that site's URL address off of Google (since I was in school and couldn't access Youtube at the time). But, for some reason, the site page turned out to be wrong!!!! I'm really sorry about that. But anyways, if you want to see the video this guy made, just simply type in "Spyro 3 - Desert Ruins Swimming Glitch" into your internet search engine, and click on the first link that pops up.

Side Note: Sorry I couldn't get you the actual URL link to the site. But my internet is going screwy and is taking forever to load one page. But I hope this helps you find it better.

Well, chances are he didn't actually steal that glitch from you. If he has a bad reputation for this kinda stuff, then most likely he did. But chances are, it's just a well-known glitch.

Hmm......that could be true, Ross. But still, I'm a little skeptical about this issue. And speaking about this issue, when you said that this glitch was "well known", what did you mean by that? Did you mean that it was well known to the public of Youtube? Or to some other video site? Or by the whole internet?

Generally the Interenet.

Face it, everyone. Every glitch you discover about a game this old or such has most likely been discovered once before, but is not often talked about. I accept that the Ice Cavern Invincibility Glitch I disvovered in StD may already have been done.
