How many things do you notice that are wrong with this picture?

His scails look wierd, and he's crossing his eyes. I don't like the way his wings look, either...

And about the first "Spyro" pic... One thing is wrong. This is not Spyro. This is some ****, formed into Spyro's shape and brought alive. Spyro looks like this:

Only DotD Spyro is bad. ANB and TEN is simply an enhanced-graphics design of StD Spyro. DotD is imo bad, bacause:
1. Spyro looks "non-spyrish"
2. Sparx is not funny at all.
3. Spyro is an emo (you know, what I mean, sad, sad and sad)
4. Cynder as Sparx's replacement, especially in the ending.
5. Stupid Elders smiles.
6. Ununderstandable Malefor.
7. ANB and TEN could be Spyro's alternative history, but DotD is simply stupid, plotholes, adult, sad Spyro, nothing like old, good Spyro (if he don't fly in DotD, why he must have been adult? He could make this "flying" in TEN form).
All imo, please, no flame wars. Thank you. I love StD, GtG, YotD, I like ANB and TEN, I hate DotD.

i like DotD but theres alot of things that bug me about it like 3 years shouldnt do that much to spyro and where the hell did krome studios go? im a HUUUUUGGGGGEEEEEE TLoS fan but DotD kinda annoys me...

I've noticed that the beginning part of his right wing is through his shoulder. I also noticed that his leg is not properly placed, they should have connected without ball joint graphics. Notice that they put the connecting part of the leg way up. Then I noticed that his belly is too awkwardly designed, he could not properly do some of his moves.

later I noticed that his right wing is bent enough to break his wing. Notice that it is close to the other minor hiccup on his wing.

Anyhow, yeah, that was a pretty poor pic of Spyro. Then again, DOTD art seems to be quite rushed.

Very little muscles around the wings where they attatch to the shoulder, wing membrane doesn't attatch to the body, very thin back legs, just plain ugly.

They tried to make teen Spyro look threatening from an angle. He looks almost like a spider leaning forward...

Tee hee... Reminds me of something I almost put in a spoof. I was going to sing the spider pig song but say dragon not pig, and use the audio on a clip of Spyro turned upside down. I decided not to, deciding it was dumb.

hmmmm....faulty artwork it happens.

His chest is too big. Heck he shouldn't eve have a chest, I thought only females have them. D:
His back legs are too skinny, his muzzle is just messed up, he looks even more ugly, the shading is too solid, he's bending his right wing a little too much..... the list can go on.

IMO, Spyro's mouth in ANB and TEN is a little.... weird.

You're the one who's being childish. He was just simply pointing out the faults in DOTD Spyro's design. There is no need for you to be all whiny and complain that this is another TLOS vs original argument.

My case is closed.

The shading really bothers me. It stands out to much. It should be just a couple of shades darker than the colour of his scales, and it should blend in a little more. Not to mention it's in the wrong places. :\

I think his leg in the front looks too big.

Man no matter how advance tech gets, animators will always make mistakes.

I also want to point out something about the horns. How is he suppose to charge with them like that? You might as well get rid of them, because they're no use, and call the charge, "head bash" or something, because it doubt those horns can hit anything, it's his scales that's doing all the work. Original Spyro's horns were up straight, so when he charges, his horns are RIGHT IN FRONT, so the horns bash into the enemies, not his scales. >.<

His mouth is imppossibly huge and his back legs are way too skinny and weak.

His mouth is almost longer than head His esophagus whole is somewhere in the middle of this giantous mouth, I guess.

His mouth is too big, he's still cross eyed, his chest is too big and his back legs are too skinny.

His anatomy is entirely screwed up.

Neck is connected to the wrong part of the head. Jaw can apparently dislocate. Shoulders and wrists are dislocated. Wing joints are dislocated. Should not be able to walk with chest that far forward, let alone crouch. Front is too heavy to be supported by legs. Hips are too narrow to support his back legs. Eyes are in the wrong place.

I can go on and on. I draw for a living and study anatomy. By all logic, he should be dead.

Razz, can you "repair" DotD Spyro for us? Can you paint his good version, with good anatomy, proportions etc? Pleeeaaase

I don't do colors anymore, but I have one commission slot left if anyone wants to commission this for $40. I don't draw LoS anything for free anymore; it attracts unwanted attention.

Skinny legs don't mean weak legs. Trust me, I know.

I like the DotD design. I don't care if he looks anatomically correct or not, he is a dragon after all.

Imagine if he was a Chinese dragon in Spyro's Kingdom!

Skinny legs supporting a massive body do mean weak legs, which is exactly his problem here.

And the "it's a dragon, so it doesn't need to be anatomically correct" thing is crap. That's the excuse poor artists make when they don't know what they're doing. Even the most outlandish, stylized cartoon character follows the basic rules of good anatomy and physics.

I've been drawing for almost 25 years and I'm a professional freelance artist. I know what I'm talking about here.

Oddly, the original concept drawings for DotD Spyro aren't so bad. I'm not sure what happened between those drawings and the final game models. The same is true of Cynder (she wasn't so horribly scrawny and it looked like she could move her head and make more than one expression).

I always thought the upper part of his legs were big enough, and that would be his main support. Same with all other Spyro styles, and with Cynder.
