I have seen a lot of discussion of forums returning across social media. I would personally love to see it happen, though I am unsure if current social media users would be able to adjust to forum culture... assuming that this would happen to begin with. It is quite interesting that the Pokemon Company made an official forum, however...

Instagram is making their own Twitter so I wonder how that's gonna end up. I don't think reddit is dying anytime soon tho. It's a top 10 most used site with tons of info and communities on it. It's the most forum like experience that people still used.

But there are still active forums today. Tfw2005 is a still active transformers discussion board that is still very much active.

i think forums should come back. they create a sense of community.
but forums gotta be monitored real good to be good. have rules.
still, if forums came back, i think things could be better.

Definitely been seeing a few new forums pop up which is hopeful, I think personal websites are gonna be one of the big things that come back in style too.

edit: ive seen people moving to bluesky. i havent used it but it seems like either that or mastadon are going to be the main alternatives at least in my circles
