Metaphorical or literal?

If metaphorical:
Extremely depressed, more depressed than I could ever imagine. I strive for my dreams because they give me something to live for. If I could finally achieve them, I'd have nothing left to live for, no reason to act for anything anymore. Where would I go from here? Where could I go from here? There's nothing left to live for.

If literal:
