So the final Fighters Pass character is getting revealed today. Although what I really hope is that we get some sort of idea of what we can expect from the post-pass DLC characters. Will they be more third parties? Will they have stages? Will we have a random handful of off-the-wall Piranha Plant type characters?

At this point smash is one big ad for fire emblem

Six new DLC fighters still to come, tho.

Now that the DLC isn't limited to new franchises I want Raiden to get in with a Jack the Ripper meter, would probably be broken but still really fun.

Edit: Also, why are most Byleth fans are so obnoxious? You say nicely you're not too interested and you get all these "hoes mad XD" "salty smash fan tears lmao!!!". This didn't happen on this scale with the other characters, why only now? People weren't happy with Hero but it seemed like the fans of DQ let people have their disagreements and moved on without acting entitled.

Usually with a character I'm not interested in I'd say "I'm happy for the fans of this character", but I'm not too happy for them this time.

I just find it hilarious that we finally get a FE character with a weapon triangle of sorts... but they're from the game in the franchise that, if I'm not mistaken, completely ditches the weapon triangle. XP

I'm both happy and perplexed about Byleth's inclusion. I really don't think we needed another FE rep, but if any of the most recent games deserved it, Three Houses did, especially because it got a chance to prove itself as a solid game. I'm also overjoyed that they didn't just stick to swords for Byleth, and actually gave them multiple weapons, making them a much more unique character than they would have been otherwise. That being said, I really hope we don't get any more Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, or Fire Emblem reps. They all have enough content between fighters, stages, music, and spirits.

As for the next set, there's a few characters I'd like to touch on:

Characters I like that I think are likely:
-Travis Touchdown, we know a lot of people like to use Smash as basically a promotion for an upcoming game *cough* SQUARE ENIX *cough*, and since suda51 and Sakurai seem pretty close, like he and Kojima do as well, I think Travis is pretty likely. He'd probably have some unique mechanics for charging his beam sword too. I also really just want to see Santa Destroy as a stage lmao
-Octoling, Splatoon is looking more and more like one of Nintendo's premier wholly owned franchises, alongside the likes of Mario, Zelda, and Animal Crossing. I'd actually be pretty surprised if we didn't get another Splatoon rep of some sort, echo or otherwise, maybe with an Underground Metro stage from Octo Expansion or something?

Characters I think are pretty likely:
-Rex and Pyra/Mythra, Sakurai himself stated when the first Fighters Pass was revealed that he added the Rex costume because he couldn't add Rex in the first pass, despite really wanting to. We know the only reason there's BotW and Three Houses content in the base game and the Fighters Pass is because he got to play those games early, which also explains the lack of inclusion of stuff from Persona 5 Royal. I'll be genuinely surprised if we don't get some fighter from Xenoblade 2.
-Dante, not because of the leaks or anything, but because I think after DMCV, Capcom would likely be really interested in it. We have actual guns in Smash now, so his inclusion wouldn't be much of an issue.
-Doomguy/Master Chief, I lumped these two together because I think they both have an equal chance of getting in. We know Bethesda talked to Nintendo about Smash, and because we have the Cuphead costume, we know Microsoft's partnership with Nintendo for Banjo wasn't a one and done deal. Since both Doom and Halo are iconic bastions of the FPS genre, and that's really the only genre we're missing, I think both are pretty likely. If we don't get Doomguy though, I think either Dragonborn or a Fallout rep could be something from Bethesda they'd add in.

Regardless of who they add going forward, I'm happy. Snake and Corrin came back, I got my Smash Ballot picks of Inkling and Chrom, and I got Joker and Byleth. Whoever comes in DLC next doesn't effect me, I just hope it's someone a lot of people like so I can atone for my sins as a Fire Emblem fan.

2. I think it's safe to say I've seen the forefront of Smash stuff over the course of the past year and a half, and Hero fans were 100% this obnoxious. The only difference is that there's a lot more Fire Emblem fans than Dragon Quest fans on the English speaking side of the internet. >.>

I'd only want one more Zelda character, but that's just because the six that we have are technically three in actuality. At least with, say, Pokémon and Fire Emblem they are all different characters for the most part.

That said, I agree with the above post otherwise.
