Is EVERYTHING on Nightmare mode?

Been wondering this for a while now. When I set a game save to nightmare mode is the difficulty increased in every part of the game including the sensei realms, battle arena etc? Or is it just the game chapters and expansion pack levels?

I would assume the difficulty is raised everywhere because there are enemies everywhere
