If you could only have one of these two start getting regular releases of new games again, who would you pick?

I'd pick Crash. I was always a big fan of his games, and I hardly knew anything about Spyro growing up. I know he's having reboots, but I mean I'd rather have him get totally new games instead of Spyro.

There's only one rule to this: No ranting about how the characters are "dead" and Activision killed them. Just calmly explain your choice. If this topic turns into a big flame-war, I'll close it.

So...you're decision?

Spyro for sure. Sorry Crash, your games are okay (I like Warped especially; really, it's the only one I played that I liked a lot besides the one with the mutant animals) but can be frustrating as all hell (I know that's the point but ahhhh) and I just like Spyro more and want to see more of him

Spyro. I'll be super biased and say 3D collectathons could use an existing mascot to get back at full force. Crash is an amazing plataformer, but that's a genre that never went away.

I'd have to go with Crash simply because I'm biased. I haven't actually played any Spyro games unless you count like, 5 minutes of New Beginnings. Though I do own Orange or Fusion or whatever the hell it's called.

Phoenix Crystal is the best unreleased Crystal.
Skylanders Academy Season 2 was an improvement.
I don't know what to think of Skylanders' future.

You guys have gotta play Spyro - I know you won't regret it! smilie

I'd obviously pick Spyro over Crash, as long as the games were good quality.

I forget that this is also a Skylanders site. On my old account before Skylanders, all we had here was Spyro, so I guess I'm just experiencing culture shock.

Anyway, I'd definitely pick Spyro. No question about it. I played both series as a kid but I've been consistently replaying Spyro games for the past 18 years, I'd like to see a new one eventually. Though, it probably wouldn't have the same charm as the Insomniac trilogy did, unfortunately.

Spyro because while I love Crash (and he's coming back, yay!), his kind of game never went away. For example, I find Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario 3D World are a lot like a Crash game in terms of how the levels are designed. The modern Castle of Illusion game also had 3D sections that ar elike Crash.

This thread is false advertising because the answer would obviously be Spyro. I don't even like Crash Bandicoot.

Even if "Modern" Spyro games weren't very good, they'd likely have an interesting storyline, like the Legend of Spyro trilogy.

Technically, I haven't played either (except for Shadow Legacy) due to the fact that I don't own any of the consoles for the games, but I'd say Spyro because of DRAGONS.

While Spyro would be fun I think his premise of finding very jewel outdated by today's culture in gaming. Nobody wants to collect every single token in video games as they get bored of the game thinking that it'll take forever to get the main goal of completing the game. Crash however could be fun at 60 FPS.

I would pick Spyro. That way darkSpyro would rise from the ashes like a phoenix.

Sure, it would become even more of a meme hell, but that's t he price we have to pay.
