Windows XP Has a 10% Market Share 15 Years After it's Release, 2 Yrs After Life [CLOSED]

I think this is just astounding to me. Microsoft pulled a rabbit out of their hat with Windows XP. After the disasterous Windows ME, Microsoft needed a good OS, and boy, XP was it. Another factor to XP's longevity is that Windows Vista and Windows 8 were dissapointing, and people didn't jump on the Windows 8.1 upgrade really. I think you'll see Windows 7 pulling a Windows XP down the line too. With Windows 10's adoption rate slowing (http://www.extremetech.com/com...ts-best-efforts), the future of OS's are going to be very weird and interesting going forward.

I do think that most of these XP users are businesses that won't/can't upgrade yet, and older people that do not see the point in upgrading.

Wow, XP just doesn't want to die. Even though I'm no tech expert, it's pretty obvious that XP was the best OS during its time.

My computer keeps trying to upgrade to Windows 10, and I don't want it.

I wish I could update to 10 since it was starting to run smooth, but graphics card isn't ompatible - it went from 1028x720 to 800x600 once I updated and I never resorted to a backup so quickly.

XP was definately awesome, though I prefer Windows 7's look with the transparent icons, matches wallpapers like a glove.
