Ever since the first Skylanders game, people have been comparing it to another franchise: Pokémon. To be honest the similarities (coincidences) are everywhere.
SSA/Gen 1: This was the first game in the series. Didn't introduce much, aside from the core gameplay mechanic.
SG/Gen 2: Smaller number of new characters, but polished the gameplay a bit.
SSF/Gen 3: Made many differences to the game. Bigger roster than SG/Gen 2.
STT/Gen 4: Featured online for the first time (There is online on the 3ds version of TT). Changed a few gameplay mechanics, but not too many.
SSC/Gen 5: They tried to do a lot of things here, but the game ended up being critisized for reasons. Also the story was improved.
So, what new gameplay mechanic was introduced in Gen 6 of Pokémon?
That's right : Mega Evolution
Again, these are coincidences, but we might get something like Mega Evolution in Skylanders 6. Which would make it easy to put Pokémon amiibo into the game.
I seriously doubt it though.
