I have confirmed the money trick (re-breaking legendary treasures after talking with Persephone) still works with this update on PS4.

At the start of most levels, there are now elemental vehicle gate like the ones at the Academy. They will say something like, "Only vehicles of the Life element can access this zone".

Does every level have one specific elemental gate, like for example, in the Land of the Undead the gate is only Undead and in the Sky Eater it's only Dark?

Okay, I see what they are. There are 2 new reward generators. One for elemental zones, one for supercharger zones.

The elemental zones (max 10) are powerful enough that you can go from level 1 to level 20 with just the rewards from 6th level to 8th level. I cant go further than 8 as I do not have a magic or tech vehicle.

Supercharger rewards one also exists. I will save that one more when I get more beginning characters.

By the way, if you have a PS3, this 1.05 patch is only 1.04.

Actually, I checked the lower right corner of the screen and it says "1.4.0", not "1.05". Also, they've given us a chance to level up our new Skylanders faster kinda like back from Trap Team where the bubbles contain stars and provide them with lots of gold coins. Thank you, Patch 1.4.0.

My guess would be to simply help Portal Masters rank up if all three checks are earned. And now that there is a new update, doing all ten different Elemental Zones will allow Skylanders to earn lots of gold and level up super faster.

It's the same Elemental Zones in the Academy, only in a level. I haven't checked, but is it only one gate per level? (And by level I mean overarching level like how the first one is chapters 1-4)

So, once you've exhausted the treasure chest from Supercharged challenges and Elemental Gate challenges, you can never open the chest and boxes again? So they're one and done basically? That would suck if so, cause it means you can only level up a few Skylanders, despite there being 300+.

I would not call them elemental zones like past games. I consider them challenges. I consider them more like the 50 zones you had to upgrade your characters to in Giants and SSA. They are uniquely written. There are/will be 18 for Superchargers (20 perhaps in the Wii/WiiU) and 10 elemental ones. There are 3 stars each. There is no trophy for getting 3 stars in any of them as far as I can tell, just personal satisfaction. Buzz's quests make sure you at least pass them, but as far as getting 3 stars, I see no requirement so far. Have got 3 stars in all 11 supercharger challenges so far and 8 out of 10 elemental ones at 3 stars.

So, its 30 new little challenge zones and seemingly you get daily rewards for having done them. Likely the higher the # done, the better the rewards.

If it is truly daily, then leveling up characters will be a breeze. Course, folks who do not want to do it that way do not have to, but I find replaying these levels for leveling and gold to be extremely dull. I leveled up my characters doing the regular game and nightmare but there really is not a challenge to it so I will maybe use these things combined with my daily 2500-3000 coins to level up other characters as well.

Sorry, but I'm questioning about the form of entrance in the stages, not the working of the zones itself. But it's good that you explained me how it works.

Vehicles don't have to match with their signature drivers, but I think it would be best since pairing both SuperChargers and their Vehicles together would make the Elemental Gate challenges a little easier. Yep, which is why, most folks who do not have a WiiU for example cannot access the tech or magic zones despite having magic or tech characters already out. Well, at least it will be something new some day.

I guess they decided to have a few not fitting the level. Remember the Fire zone of Glacier Gully in Giants? It was cool to have a zone contrasting with the theme of the level. In the next level of the same game you have a Tech zone in Secret Vault of Secret, fitting the tech/robot theme of the level.

Wow, that really is crap. I looked for the rest and all of them fit perefectly... except for Water. Why didn't they put Fire instead, Fire even seems to be excluded for probably the same reason why it's excluded from the Eon's Elites. Water doesn't fit anywhere, except for maybe the Vault of the Ancients, but why cut off an element that actually fits a chapter and include an element that doesn't fit any instead?

Water fits because Cloudbreather's Crag is pretty much through several rivers, it's just not in that particular part of the level. Would've looked better in the flooded area not too much after the Sea Zone,there are even some bridges leading to nowhere there.

Exactly.
Being simple rifts which makes you access extra areas they have nothing to do with the level design so they could have at least made them match (and fit) their surroundings.
Really can't understand why Fire isn't there...

Should have at least created new zones.

I'm honestly shocked we even got one patch. Heck VV has created three or four now. I'm thankful.

And after playing for a MONTH doing daily quests, I was not getting the final Tessa quest on getting the DARKNESS card. 2nd quest right after the patch, I got it. FINALLY!

Btw, when I look at my status for trophies in XBO, it says I'm 100%,yet in the game it says it is not unlocked (NIGHTMARE playthrough). Midway playing through it again. We'll see.

There was one post somewhere about those elemental and supercharge totems being daily rewards, so far for me its been a single time only, up to how many reward points you have. A part of me kinda wanted them to be daily so I can level up the reposes I never have and a part of me did not.

Yeah I wasted quite a few thinking it was daily, but I did get all the new guys more or less upgraded.

I know this isn't directly related to the patch (I don't even have Superchargers yet), but I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised VV is putting out patches on a regular basis. That's definitely a change for this series, and a good one. I hope they keep at it. smilie

^It's really nice that they're doing that since they have the possibility to fix problems like the whole ordeal with Nightfall. If a problem like that occurred in Trap Team we'd have to learn to live with it.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the Wii no longer having the core game. They are free to update and make changes to the game on all the other consoles without worrying about the Wii version being excluded.

Using a new/corrected Nightfall figure is probably the only for that character to work on SuperChargers Racing for Wii and 3DS, as no Skylander game on those systems has ever received an update.

The game technically had elemental gates anyway, they were just in the hub, so it wasnt lieing.

The updates available for xbox one smilie .
nice to see there wasn't a 3 week gap or whatever between systems again.

I'm not a fan of the ridiculous amount of rewards available now though. Being able to fully max out a character in 5 minutes defeats the purpose of having them upgradable in the first place. Damn you lazy people, next you'll be wanting characters to come fully upgraded so you don't have to put any effort in at all.

Well... We don't have them yet but we do have level 20 characters.
This year's Eon's Elites stay at 20 even when you reset them.
