I could understand it if the person was genuinely doing something wrong and people calmly tell them that it's a bit messed up, but some are really quick to jump the gun and assume the absolute worst in reply to a statement that is only slightly questionable.

I've been guilty of it in the past myself but I'm trying not to be such a hardass anymore.

I don't think QueenCrystalis really meant anything really wrong, if that's how you took my post, and I didn't mean to bash her comment or what she thought. Just wanted to point something out.

Since when were any of us being politically correct?

I know I'm not, as its something I don't care for (And find to be stupid.)

"i can't enjoy myself unless i negatively impact someone else's day"

there's a difference between disregarding the need for "tastefulness" when necessary and just being the punchline to a freudian joke.

Well, as long as people don't start witch hunts over someone being "problematic", I think we'll be fine.

No matter how hard you try, you're not going to please everyone. Someone is always going to be offended regardless.

I never understand why the term "African-American" is still used today. The majority of black people in the U.S. weren't even born in Africa.

Exactly. I also don't understand why people accuse others of being racist for calling a black man black (or a white man white, or an asian man asian, so on and so forth). Yes, that's their race. How is it racist.

Oh, and this pissed my off. My sister was watching a show, and there was a guy on it who looked like Obama. I said "He looks like Obama", and was given the "THAT'S RACIST" scolding, and according to her, I only said it because he was black. I don't see how sawing a black person looks like a black person is racist. If I said that my sister looked like my mom, would that be racist because they're the same race? No. That's not how it works.

That reminds me how a lot of people get offended if you call them African-American rather than just calling them black
And I mean the ones that actually are of African-descent

What is something not "politically correct" that you want to say?

The fact is, politically correctness is a wide spectrum. Most things considered "politically correct" are just common human decency. Is it really that hard to avoid calling someone an offensive name or stereotyping people? On the other hand, some things are just a bit excessive and go in the other direction, such as thin-shaming and cis-hating (looking at you, Tumblr).
